Capital Campaign Newsletter

September 22nd & 23rd, 2018

Capital Campaign Begins!

St. Patrick’s is proud to announce the beginning of the Remembering Our Past, Building Our Future Together Capital Campaign to finally address our long awaited renovation and expansion of our parish facilities. Everyone that calls St. Patrick’s home will be receiving information about the campaign from the pulpit, through the mail, in the bulletin, at campaign receptions (see details below) and from your fellow parishioners. We ask that everyone give their fullest attention and cooperation to the efforts of this campaign, as it is vital to our mission here at St. Patrick’s. During this campaign, all parishioners will be asked to offer their sacrificial gifts of stewardship and prayer in order to ensure our success in our Capital Campaign.

If you have any questions, please contact the campaign office at 860.677.2639 or [email protected]

All parishioners will be invited to a Campaign Reception

In the coming weeks, all parishioners will receive an invitation to attend one of a series of campaign receptions. At these receptions, Fr. Barry and the Campaign Committee will share our vision for the future as well as show the 3D project overview. This is your opportunity to learn firsthand about the campaign, ask questions, receive your campaign materials and meet with your fellow parishioners. Because this is an important time in the life of our parish community, we ask that all parishioners take the time to attend a reception. Please RSVP as soon as possible so that we can plan for your attendance. See you there!

This is Recruitment Weekend!

As explained during Mass today, this weekend is Volunteer Recruitment Weekend for the Capital Campaign. Over the coming weeks, we will be reaching out to every family to spread the word about the campaign. We need your time and talent to be successful! With a parish of more than 1,400 families, we need a number of volunteers to assist with phone calls, receptions and preparing mailings. The more people we have involved, the easier our task will be! Please give your prayerful consideration to volunteering in this effort. For those that volunteered someone will be contacting you.

Stewardship thought from this week’s gospel

“If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.” MARK 9:35

Jesus teaches us that we are called to serve one another, to sacrifice for the good all. Sacrifice can be a complicated matter. Biblically, we often think of the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made, or maybe the story Abraham and Isaac. We think it means that we must give up something that something dear to us or even something that we may want. However, the literal meaning of sacrifice is “to make holy,” from the words “sacer” = sacred and “facere” = to make. In other words, we make our lives holy by sharing our gifts (of time, talent & treasure) in the service of God.

FOR WEEKEND OF SEPT 16

OFFERTORY

Masses: $ 8,793.00 Online: $ 770.00 WEEKLY OFFERTORY: $ 9,563.00

Thank you very much for your continuing support and generosity.

There are four ways of giving to St. Patrick’s Church: 1. Making contributions through your bank in person or

online. 2. Making gifts to church of appreciated securities. 3. Making a one time or an annual end of the year gift. 4. Establishing a legacy gift as part of one’s estate planning.

In preparation for our long awaited campaign, each parishioner is asked to pray for its success.

Below is our “Official Campaign Prayer”:

Campaign Prayer

Heavenly Father, we glorify you and we thank you

for all the many blessings you bestow on us as members of the one Body of Christ, your Son.

By the power of the Holy Spirit

inspire us with a vision of the future of St. Patrick Parish,

one filled with hope, confidence and trust, a vision that we pledge to support

for re-igniting our faith and the faith of those who will come after us.

Give us the grace to live fully our Christian calling,

to strengthen the life of our parish, to impart and deepen the faith among all age groups,

especially our youth, to expand our charitable outreach in the name of Christ,

and to plan wisely for the future.

We make our prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

For details, please contact Fernando Macaro, Coordinator of Peer Ministry

at [email protected]

St. Michael, the Archan-gel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into Hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for ruin of souls. Amen
