MASS INTENTIONS FOR THE WEEK
CATHOLIC EDUCATION - “FORMING MINDS AND HEARTS IN GRACE” “True instruction[a] was in his mouth, and no wrong was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity.” Malachi 2:6 Catholic schools are an integral part of the teaching mission of the Church. Catholic schools build faith, develop leadership ability and provide academic excellence in a safe environment. Your gift will help keep tuition affordable for families to send children to schools that will support Catholic values, develop character and provide academic excellence. Our goal here at Saints Peter and Paul Parish is $144,671.06 - but we have already raised an incredible $103,310 from the contributions of only 277 families! That’s an average gift of over $372. Now we invite all parishioners to participate in this important effort. Please make your sacrificial gift to help continue the mission of the Church here in the Diocese of Camden.
Parish Office Hours will be as follows during Holy Week:
Monday, March 26th - 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Tuesday, March 27th - 9:00 AM to 2:45 PM
(for the Chrism Mass) Wednesday, March 28th - 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Thursday, March 29th - Office Closed Friday, March 30th - Office Closed
The Parish Office will also be closed on Monday, April 2nd.
We will reopen on Tuesday, April 3rd at 9:00 AM.

"Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit. Now is the time of judgment on this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out. And when I am lifted up from the earth,
I will draw everyone to myself." - Jn 12:24, 31-32

News and Around the Diocese
“JESUS THE HEALER”
This is an unforgettable experience of healing presented by the
Franciscan Mystery Players. Through the use of special lighting
and sound, this moving dramatic meditation promises to be a high
point in our Parish’s spiritual journey. Because of the intensity of
the subject matter, it may not be recommended for children. We
strongly encourage all our adults and teens to attend this unique
and prayerful presentation on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 7:00 PM.
TOGETHER IN PRAYER
A prayer group for the LGBT community, their families and loved ones, will gather for prayer at the Parish Center of Saints Peter and Paul Parish. Gatherings will be on April 29, May 20 and thereafter on the last Sunday of each month. All are welcome to join in prayer. For more information, please call Christine at 207-240-5254.
FASTING & ABSTINENCE DURING LENT
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence. Catholics from the age of 18 to the age of 60 are bound to the mandate to fast; Catholics over the age of 14 are seriously bound to observe the abstinence from meat. Lenten fasting allows for a single “normal” meal. Sustenance through the day is permitted but the quantity of food for this sustenance is not to equal or exceed the amount of food taken in the single normal meal.
THE DIACONATE OFFICE LAUNCHES A NEW WEBSITE
On camdendeacon.org, you will find various articles, programs and practical “how to’s” all aimed to help those discerning a possible call to serve in ordained ministry as a permanent deacon. There is a link that will enable you to “Meet our Deacons,” a blog with informative articles, as well as other resources which open up a greater opportunity to learn more about our faith and service. If you like what you see - pass on the Good News! For more information, contact the Office of the Diaconate at 856-583-2858.
Veterans: Catholic Charities will be hosting a Veteran-led support/counseling group to help veterans of all eras. Topics may include reintegrating into civilian life, anxiety, and connecting with family/friends. Sessions will take place Mondays at 7:30 PM.
Please contact Catholic Charities at [email protected] or 856-394-3571 for more information.
CHRISM MASS 2018 Bishop Sullivan invites the faithful of the diocese to join him and his priests for the Chrism Mass at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at St. Agnes Church / Our Lady of Hope Parish in Black-wood. The Chrism Mass is a celebration of the priesthood and the occasion at which the bishop consecrates the sacred oils used in the sacramental life of the Church. Your presence and prayerful support will be greatly appreciated.
