2.8x job growth in digital tech economy compared to the rest

of the economy

Page 3: Salary Survey 2016

Foreword.

Welcome to the 4th edition of the Digital Gurus Digital Salary Survey for London. We’ve spent the last 12 months speaking to thousands of relevant candidates and clients across both permanent and contract sectors to bring you the most up to date salary guide yet. Digital Gurus has consolidated its position as a leader and pioneer within the traditional digital markets. We cover more than 12 different verticals and also have offices in Dubai and Sydney to offer more opportunities than ever before. Our latest findings have highlighted some key trends:

• Salaries have increased by an average of 5-10% over the last 12 months

• The contract market is lucrative with high day rates and flexible working

• London is still the place to be – but outer London is definitely seeing some more competition.

All of this is due to the fact that digital is still one of the fastest growing areas of our economy: big brands are taking digital in-house and building their own offering to compete alongside the agencies and the rise of start-ups is showing no sign of abating. But with a real lack of experienced talent available, the industry is turning its focus to training and development. Until the balance is restored - as we’ve said before - candidate is king.

1.56m jobs exist within the digital tech

economy
