SALE OF STORE CATTLE / SHEEP

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL VENDORS All cattle must be ear tagged and the tag numbers given to the Auctioneers before

the sale commences. Ear numbers must be correct and match lot numbers.

NOTES TO ALL VENDORS All cattle must be penned by 10.00am

Market gates open at 6.30am

Please take advantage of this fact to enable stock to be booked in properly and to enable

viewing prior to sale.

**Cattle arriving late or without paperwork will be sold at the end**

Once you have unloaded your stock, please move the empty vehicle straight away to

avoid congestion.

IMPORTANT It will be the Vendor’s responsibility to provide the correct documentation (i.e. CID

and/or Passports) for each animal. The purchaser will have 72 hours to check such

documentation and can at the vendor’s expense return any beast with the wrong

documentation, or the whole of the Lot with which it was sold, or he can reclaim from

the vendor any premium lost as a result of either the vendor’s wrongful description of

the animals or the incorrect nature of the documentation supplied. The vendor may be

liable for any additional costs incurred by the auctioneers in satisfying the purchaser’s

requirements.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS All Heifers are sold as being under 30 months old and sold with the appropriate

passports unless otherwise declared.

NOTICE TO ALL BIDDERS If you are purchasing animals on another person’s behalf, you must inform the auctioneer

BEFORE the sale commences and it must be agreed with the auctioneers who the animal

will go to, and who will pay for them.

We would remind you of the Conditions of Sale that place responsibility for payment on

the person bidding if he has not disclosed to the auctioneers the eventual purchaser.

N.B: No lot is to be removed until arrangements for payment have been arranged

Please do not leave empty vehicles on the loading bays

in the anticipation of purchasing.

the information you require for cross compliance amongst other things at no

further charge

Please be aware of the Defra requirements for reading ear tags. There is a

disclaimer as far as McCartneys is concerned concerning tags that don’t read,

tags that have come out and dare we say sheep that are not

tagged. Ultimately the vendor is responsible to ensure that he has 100%

records to meet Cross Compliance requirements.

We can only read what we can read!

Please take note of the disclaimer which states “McCartneys have taken all due

care and diligence in reading the EID sheep tags shown in this document but will not

accept any failure resulting from the tags themselves either because of tag malfunction

or installation error and will not accept any financial consequences from such

error. Vendors/Purchasers must satisfy themselves as to the correctness of information

shown in relying upon it to meet their regulatory responsibilities.”

Please take note we will do all we can to help you and not shirk our
