HIGHLIGHTS

RainforestA rainforest is a long area with high rainfall throughout the year, in which the growth of plants is very dense and has relatively warm temperatures. Two thirds of the world’s plants and animal species make their home in these forest regions, full of magic, as well as in hundreds of millions more that are yet to be discovered. The Rainforests have been named “The Jewel of the Earth”, as well as “The Lungs of the Earth”, since they are essential for the recycling of carbon-dioxide into oxygen. The forest is also recognized as the “Wolds Largest Pharmacy”, because many natural medicines are discovered there.

Pacaya Samiria National ReserveThe Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is one of the last accessible tropical rainforest in the world. The Reserve has an area of 2.08 million hectares, which represents a 1.5% of the total land area of the country and is the largest of the protected natural areas of Peru. The Reserve has a unique beauty; and it is also known as the “Forest of Mirrors”, because the jungle and sky are reflected so clearly in the dark waters of the rivers, that the visitors have the feeling of seeing endless mirrors. The Reserve has a great diversity of wildlife as well as aquatic life: 449 species of birds, 102 of

mammals, 69 reptiles, 58 amphibians, 256 fish and 1,204 species of plants!. Among the endangered or threatened species that inhabit it, we have the jaguar (Felix oca), the black caiman (Melanosuchus niger), the manatee (trichechus inunquis), diversity of turtles, the river otters (Pteronura brasiliensis), the scarlet macaw, the pink dolphin and the paiche (Arapaima gigas).

Natural Amazon ParkThe Natural Reserve is a private Amazon Reserve, protected and exclusive of Jungle Experiences. It is located on the right side of the Maranon River, adjacent to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. This is an area classified as primary forest on the mainland that is not flooded in the rain season. It has a unique ecosystem and a beautiful and varied landscape, ideal for the development of tourism interested in wildlife observation. Throughout the area adjacent to the banks of the reserve, there are a number of roads, trails and canopies that allow navigation throughout most of the area. Whether early in the morning or in the evening, the canopies are visited by toucans, iguanas, monk saki monkeys, butterflies and all kinds of insects. However it would be good to highlight the incredible views of the entire flora from this point, tops of palm trees, flowers and many plants that can be seen from a very interesting perspective. Inside the Reserve, lives a Jibaro-ashual Shaman priest, who many locals visit, for being cured with the use of medicinal plants, as well as with the help of the plant and animal spirits.
