Navigating the Item Tree Two ways to get there in Sysmanager:

Click on Item Tree from the top

Navigate to Activities>Item Tree (but really just click the button)

There are three parts to the Item Tree

1. The right side, the Item Tree you are working in

2. The middle, the DCI

3. The left side, Restrictions

Navigating the Item Tree

• View all three columns: Item Tree vs. DCI vs. Restrictions

• Item Tree: build your salespoint menu. Only drag those items into the item tree that Operators are allowed to sell

– CAN delete items from the Item Tree

– CAN edit the item from the Item Tree

• DCI: all items available (even those that an operator many not need to sell at an Admissions salespoint)

– CANNOT delete items from the DCI

– CAN move the same item to different locations of the item tree

• Restrictions: set restrictions on the item in the Item Tree (different from DCI restrictions) and change description, add color and picture to item.

– DCI restrictions override Item Tree restrictions

Item Tree Layout • Items listed in Item Tree are from top to bottom and Items listed on

Salespoints are from Left to Right– this is why we encourage paper first. – Here is an example to show the correlation of the item on the Item Tree to the item on

the Sales screen:

• The DCI still has the original description and that will not change. Only the item’s displayed on Sales screen will change.

• Most layouts pull the Item Tree description to print on the tickets layout.

• It is recommended that you put your ideas down on paper first. Some item trees, like F&B, can get complicated easily.

• You can make early decisions about number of columns and rows on the sales screen, and more.

• Design Item Tree on Screen – not concerned with colors

• Assign the Guest Services Item Tree to your TICKET salespoint (Activities > System Lists > Salespoints > TICKET > Edit > Item Tree > Guest Services > Save > RESTART SALES.

Button & Text Color & Bitmaps

• You can also design your Item Tree with color and pictures

• Use caution when doing this as it does take time, but the Item Tree controls how easily an operator can find and navigate to these items so color and pics can be very helpful.

• The seminar data provides good examples of grouping colors and items so operators can sell quickly and efficiently.

• To change a color you just highlight and item select Button/Text Color and select from the listed colors.

• You can also customize your color pallet but there are some tricks to this:

– Color palette is saved to your computer – not to the application so if you open sysmanager on another station your colors will not be available

– Select where you want to color location to be and then create new color

Creating a New Row and Use of Blanks

• New Row allows you to control the item that begins a new row without having to enter spaces.

Example

• Uncheck New Row on the 2 Day Adult Ticket > Done > Save and Finalize in Sales. What happened to that row?

• Why is the 3 Day Adult Ticket in the 1 position on the 4th row?

• You can create spaces between items using Blanks. Blanks are located in the **MISC** > Blanks folder in the DCI
