In this era of globalization, in order to coping with every aspect of the globe, it is inevitable to be acquainted with the knowledge of Law. To achieve this goal University of Information Technology & Sciences (UITS), first IT based private university in Bangladesh was founded in 2003, as a non profit organization under the initiative of the great philanthropist Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman. The university established Department of Law under the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences in 2005. Presently the Department is run under direct advice and supervision of Professor Dr. M. Shah Alam, Ex-Member Bangladesh Law Commission and Founder Dean, Faculty of Law, Chattogram University.

According to University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) rules, applicants for LLB Honours program must have at least 2nd Division or GPA 2.50 or equivalent grade in both SSC and HSC or in any other equivalent public examination. An applicant with minimum GPA 2.00 in SSC or HSC or in any other equivalent public exami-nation must have total GPA 6.00 in aggregate. For O level & A level, applicants must have at least 5 subjects in O level and 2 subjects in A level. Among these 7 (seven) subjects the applicants must have GPA 4.00 or B Grade in 4 subjects & GPA 3.5 or C Grade on the other 3 subjects. Regarding Freedom Fighters children, the total GPA considered as 5.00 for each applicant.

LLB (Honours) - 4 yearsLLM
A student would be awarded LLB (Honours) degree after completion of 4 (four) academic years course earning 136 credits in 8 (eight) semesters with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50. In each semester not more than four courses shall be offered and each course will carry 100 marks. As an integrated programme, it carries 3400 marks and 136 credit points. The viva-voce is compulsory for all at the end of the second semester of each academic year and will take place after completion of written examinations. The medium of instruction shall be English and/or Bangla.
A student would be awarded LLM degree after completion of 1 (one) academic year course earning 34 credits in 2 (two) semesters with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50. In each semester not more than four courses shall be offered and each course will carry 100 marks. As an integrated programme, it carries 850 marks and 34 credit points. The viva-voce is compulsory for all at the end of the second semester and will take place after completion of written examinations. The medium of instruction shall be English and/or Bangla.
