DESIGN STYLE Chapel Chancel Window Gothic

Shape 6’w x 9’h

One of the first steps in planning for stained glass is to decide on the DESIGN STYLE.

Salpointe High School has chosen the Resurrected Christ, arms raised, as shown to the right.

The background is a contemporary, geometric, joyful burst of the Holy Spirit rays, dancing in sparkling light. The example is shown “K,” to the right.

LEADED Price Range-$24,300 -$29,700

FACETED Price Range-$11,200 -$29,000

DESIGN STYLE Three (3) Aisle

WindowsGothic Shape4’w x 7’h ea.

Salpointe High School has chosen the DESIGN STYLE of the three aisle windows above. They particularly admire the mosaic style (small pieces) shown in the cross designs with the rays extruding in a circular and geometric fashion. Each window will have the similar background carried from the Chapel Chancel window, into the aisle windows. The aisle windows will show something different in each. For example, the symbols of the Resurrection could be added, such as; Dove, Butterfly and the Dolphin. Or the values taught to the students by the Carmelite Nuns, such as; Prayer, Service and Community. We can discuss this in more detail when it comes time to start designing your custom windows.

LEADED Price Range-$16,800 -$22,400 ea.

FACETED Price Range-$5,600 - $15,000 ea.

The faceted glass window (or panel) consists of thick chunks of glass & an epoxy matrix that form the design in a mosaic fashion.

What is Faceted Glass? Some general information about the medium

Page 10: Salpointe High School, Tucson, AZ (3-6-14)

The glass provides the color and the epoxy provides the line & negative space between the positive colored areas.

Page 11: Salpointe High School, Tucson, AZ (3-6-14)

The 1” thick glass is manufactured in slabs called “dalles” that measure 8” x 12”. To assure proper adhesion to the epoxy the factory perimeter finish must be removed leaving the largest possible single piece of useable glass at 7 ¾ “ X 11 ¾ “.
