To Whom It May Concern:

It is an honor to write this letter of recommendation for Ms. Samantha Baker.

I am the Reading Specialist at Humphrey Middle School where Ms. Baker currently teaches math to

seventh grade at-risk students. She does an excellent job at promoting and ensuring that her students have

copious educational learning experiences to enhance their basic skills and their overall academic success.

In addition, she is keenly aware of integrating the Common Core Learning Standards and content-area

literacy as it relates to math in her teaching and learning lessons. She is also keenly aware of integrating

differentiated learning, metacognitive/critical thinking, and social/emotional skills within her teaching

instruction. It is refreshing to view up close Ms. Baker’s high expectations for her students’ ability to

achieve regardless of their learning disabilities, and their cultural and linguistical diverse backgrounds.

It is an insightful experience to observe Ms. Baker’s classroom to view her creative and

innovative techniques of engaged learning through cooperative learning, reflective questioning and self-

evaluation. In addition to Ms. Baker’s outstanding classroom management skills, she personifies all of

the critical attributes of a superior educator and a reflective leader.

I have taught at all levels (i.e., elementary, middle school, high school, and at the

university level). I have also provided professional development to teachers and

administrators across the country. Based on my experience, it is clear to me that Ms.

Baker’s personal drive for excellence, strong work ethics, her ability to work with diverse

populations and her genuine concern for positive growth within the educational K-12

system would add significant contributions to any educational setting. I also feel she would fully support

the mission of any educational institution as a dedicated and exemplary educator.
