Recommendation of Miss Tay as a Team Leader

I am writing this report to give my views on a member of our staff Miss Helen Tay who has been identified as a potential team leader. I have also personally interviewed members of my staff on their views about Miss Helen Tay. This report will look at what are the essential qualities of a leader and how Miss Tay meets these requirements very well.

I personally think that what makes a good leader is someone who needs to know how to guide and help her members, be strict with discipline, be able to lead all kinds of people effectively as well as working well alongside them. Miss Helen Tay is a very good example of someone with the above qualities.

Most of the colleagues whom I spoke told me that Miss Tay is a dependable and hardworking person. Bryan Seet said that he enjoyed working with her and that she should be counted on to do her share of the work, while Simon told me that she once helped him finish a report when he had a family crisis. She also took the time to teach an older member of the staff how to use a new computer software.

She is also seen as someone with high standards as she will not hesitate to to reprimand someone if they are not doing their job well. Although Miss Tay has a temper, I noted that she was polite and respectful most of the time and only flared up if she felt that the person she was scolding was irresponsible. As such I feel she would be able to lead effectively and also earn the respect of her fellow staff members.

From the views of her colleagues and my own personal impressions of her, I feel that Miss Tay would be a suitable candidate for the position of a team leader. She has the qualities required of a team leader and she has already earned the respect of the majority of her fellow workers. Thus I would recommend her for the position of a team leader in the company. I hope that you will give my report due consideration and make the choice which will benefit the company the most.
