The chapter on Location Archetypes presents in detaiJ more than 30 Jocationsin the SprawJ, from residences and restaurants to chop shops and shadow techstores . Each location also includes notes on what kinds of other characters wouldJikeJy be present on the scene, as well as a map . Gamemasters will especiallyappreciate this section in those emergency moments when running an adventurerequires them to come up with a Jocation unexpectedJy and fast.
At the heart of the book is Sprawl Encounters, a section for generating randomencounters, foJJowed by core descriptions of more than 130 encounters typicaJ ofvarious streets and neighborhoods of the Sprawl . The gamemaster may sometimes
use these verbatim, or other times may find that an encounter offers the germ of anidea for an altogether different incident . Some encounters are interconnected so thatthe gamemaster may interweave characters and pJot threads over the course oftime. Some aJso offer the basis for whoJe adventures . or even a series of adventures,that he might create for his players .
