DESCRIPTION: This document will show the new country profile for Egypt.

SETUP DATA AND PREREQUISITIES:

SETUP:

DESCRIPTION COMMENTS AND NOTESGo to: Settings Administrative Setup Branches Setup.

Create a new branch with country profile of Egypt and tax profile of Egyptian tax.

Go to: Settings General Settings Tax Law Setup.

Enter tax setups according to Egyptian tax law.

Go to: Settings Employees Setup Financial Setup.

On Social Security tab create a new type and save, then on Details button, enter social security percent according to Egyptian social security law.

01 Go to: Employees Main Information Personnel Information.

Define a new employee.

02 Go to: Employees Main Information Financial Information.

Enter employee code and enter employee’s salary and allowances.

On financial options tab, check the option Under Social Security and select the social security type then enter fixed and dynamic SS base salary, the upper and the lower limits.

On Tax Data tab, check the options Taxable.

03 Go to: Workforce Management Financial Transactions Salary Transactions Salary Calculation.

Enter employee code and select a month then click on Calculate button.

The salary calculation should be done successfully.

04 Click on View Report button. The salary slip should appear, showing tax and social security amounts.

Social security amount calculated as follow:

XX = Upper Limit for Social Security Salary (Dynamic/Fixed) – SS Base Salary (Dynamic/Fixed).

If xx <= sum of non-payroll transactions at the current month, then:(SS Base Salary (Dynamic/Fixed) * Social Security Percentage)+ (XX * Social Security Percentage).

If xx > Sum of non-payroll transactions at the current month, then:(SS Base Salary Dynamic /Fixed)*social security percentage)+ (sum of non-payroll transactions * social security percentage)

In the example in the Screenshot:(800*11%) + (0*11%) = 88 (Dynamic)(400*14%) + (0*14%) = 56 (Fixed)So: 88 + 56 = 144

The salary slip should appear, showing tax and social security amounts.

07 Go to: Workforce Management Financial Transactions Salary Transactions Tax Breakdown.

Enter employee code and select month 12, and then click on Tax Breakdown button.

The tax breakdown should show the sum of worth salaries with (Other Income - Other Deductions - Vacation Compensations - Overtime) amounts deducting social security amount if included, to calculate the net income before exemptions.

Employee exemptions (Total income, personal, wife, children, parent university, college, loans and other exemptions) will be deducted from the net income before exemptions to produce the net income submissive to tax.

Net income submissive to tax will subject to tax brackets, this will give the tax amount, if there is any non-payroll tax value it will be added to the tax value, this will produce final total tax amount.

The tax amount for the transaction should be 25 based on:

Non-payroll transaction amount =500.Net income submissive to tax amount = 55620.Previous month tax = 209.250.The system calculates tax amount according to:

Non-payroll amount *12+net income submissive to tax

500*12+55620=61620This amount will subject to tax brackets:First 1000 0% = 0Second 5000 2% = 100Third 7000 4% = 280Remainder 5% = 2431Total monthly tax = 2811

(2811/12)- 209.25=25.
