Exciting Sports

We usually surf in the sea and ski on snowy mountains. But sometimes these activities are impossible. Maybe the weather forecast is bad. Or maybe it is the wrong time of year. But, while these activities might not be possible outside, they may be possible inside! Smart engineers have designed buildings that put a roof over exciting sports like surfing and skiing.

Indoor wave pools create waves that are almost like waves in the sea. But real waves are made by forces between the Earth and the Moon. Artificial waves are made by machines.

In Dubai, it never snows, and there are no mountains. If you want to go skiing, you have to visit Ski Dubai. Ski Dubai is an indoor ski slope! It is part of the biggest shopping mall in the world and has 22,500m2 of snow! That is the same size as three soccer fields.
