PROCEDUREGet a film canister and pour 15 mL of water into the canister. Cut an alka seltzer tablet in half and quickly drop into the canister with water. Immediately close the container with its cap and shake 2 times. Place on pavement cap side down and immediately start timing when the container pops. Stop timing when the container hits the ground. Record in seconds. Repeat 2 more times. Repeat using 1 tablet and 1 ½ tablets.

PROCEDUREGather materials. Using a graduated cylinder pour 10mL of room temperature, tap water into a glass baby food jar. Then pour 20 mL of room, temperature tap water into a second glass baby food jar of the same size and shape. Finally, pour 30 mL of room temperature, tap water into a third glass baby food jar of the same size and shape. Next, using a pipet, place 10 Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae that are three days old into each jar. Put one drop of mosquito diet solution every day until the experiment is over. Cut tulle netting into 3 equal sizes and shapes (4cm x 4 cm squares). Place each one over each jar and secure the netting with a rubber band. Place the three jars on the same shelf. Observe jars and record the number of larvae and pupa daily until the end of two weeks.

PROCEDURE

Get materials. Take the 100 mL, plastic cylinder container. Then using a graduated cylinder measure 50 mL of room temperature tap water and pour it into the container. Place 25 Aedes aegypti larvae that are 3 days old into the container. Using a pipet, release one drop of mosquito diet food solution into the container every day throughout the experiment. Take a 4cm x 4cm piece of tulle netting. Place it over the container and secure it with a rubber band. Place the container on the window sill. Repeat this procedure, but instead use a 150 mL and a 200 mL plastic, cylinder container. Record observations and the number of larvae and pupa daily.

Title: The Effect of the Amount of Alka-Seltzer Tablets on the Time in the Air.Hypothesis: If the amount of tablets are 1 and ½, then the time in the air will be the greatest because the more tablets, the more CO2 gas produce so there will be more force in the canister to propel the rocket farther.
