Spork Technology is good for the environment and good for Soft Rock Café!

Note: This is a fictitious proposal. Due to the confidential

nature of the intra-company documents I wrote at Right

Stuf, I could not include them in my portfolio. This proposal

demonstrates my ability to write, market, use Word and

Excel, and put together a multi-part document. All portions

of this proposal were written and designed by me.

Statement of Purpose

The Soft Rock Café is currently planning a Green Initiative campaign emphasizing its

commitment to the environment. In particular, number two on Soft Rock Café’s list of goals for

2015 is to eliminate waste. Spork Technology not only reduces waste by up to half, but offers a

superior return on investment. EI Technologies is confident that the Spork is exactly what Soft

Rock Café needs, and we are prepared not only to offer competitive pricing but a smooth and

easy implementation and delivery process.

Why Sporks are Right for Soft Rock Café

Sporks are not only affordable, they cut costs so drastically over traditional Spoons and Forks

that we can significantly personalize Soft Rock Café’s utensil and offer a premium product while

still lowering expenses. (Fig. 1a)

Sporks are available in a variety of materials, including polystyrene (PS) plastic and low-density

polyethylene (LDPE) plastic. As a partner in the Green Initiative, however, we are pleased to

offer the latest in sustainable materials, oxo biodegradable (OBD) plastic, for Soft Rock Café’s

use. OBD plastic can be composted, removing clutter from landfills and creating attractive

gardens at home or in the restaurant. Choice of OBD plastic increases costs by only $0.02 a unit

for orders under 50,000 units, $0.01 for orders between 50,000 and 99,999 units, and $0.005

for orders greater than 100,000 units.

EI Technologies understands that the Green Initiative is about promoting Soft Rock Café’s

commitment to the environment. We will work with you to create a custom design and color

choice that complements and enhances your campaign. When diners pick up their Sporks,

they’ll instantly be reminded of the good Soft Rock Café is doing with the Green Initiative.

Sporks are intuitive, and offer a nearly non-existent learning curve. (Fig. 1b) When compared

with competitor Chopsticks in double-blind studies, diners were able to learn to use a Spork in

only seconds, grasping the concept as quickly as they grasped their utensils.

Implementation

We have put together a proposal for Soft Rock Café to illustrate the level of customization

available while still lowering costs below those incurred with even the most basic and off-the-

shelf Spoons and Forks. (Fig. 1c) This proposal is ready to go upon receipt of desired color

swatch and logo and has a combined manufacturing and shipping time of two months (48

business days).

Shipping

All EI Technologies products are shipped from our headquarters in San Jose, CA, so you don’t
