    NE59J Electric Range

    Soft Closing door Double door

    NX58J77 Gas Range

1st Gas range with flex dual oven

PresenterPresentation NotesThe 2015 Range training course will help you become 2015 certified.

  • Oven Cavity

    Partition Switch Temp Sensor

    Temp Sensor

    NE59J Electric Range

PresenterPresentation NotesThe oven cavity for the NE59J features a lot of the same from previous models. Temperature sensor on the top and bottom. In single oven mode the bottom sensor is used and the top sensor is only active when the partition switch is set to dual oven.

  • Oven Cavity

    Convention

    Fan Only

    True Convention

    FAN + Heater

    NE59J Electric Range

PresenterPresentation NotesThe top oven uses convention fan only, and the bottom uses true convention. Convention heating is a fan only that circulates the internal warm air of the cavity. True Convection is a Fan with a heating element that will circulate warm air and add heat from the element.

  • NE59J Electric Range

PresenterPresentation NotesVenting on the top of the upper cavity vents out the top vent. Look out for the tabs that might cut your skin. The bottom cavity vents out the bottom of the door.

Electric Range Dos & Donts Terminal Hookup

PresenterPresentation NotesWhen connecting the Electric Range with a 3 wire connection ensure that the ground strap is installed. If you have the 4 wire connection remove the ground strap and install the 4th green wire directly on the ground screw.

Electric Range Dos & Donts Terminal Hookup

PresenterPresentation NotesMake sure the wires are tight, for example if the natural white wire is loose the customer may encounter a slow bake or broil or intermittent starts of the cooktop. This may also cause the wires for the bake and broil heating element to burn up. The Bake or Broil relay may also wear out causing slow heating.

    Failure code CAUSE SOLUTION

E-27 Oven sensor open (when it measures > ~2950) 1. Disconnect power. Open the back covers. 2. Disconnect the sensor harness and measure

the sensor resistance: ~1080 at room temperature

    3. If there is no problem with the oven sensor, check whether there is a damaged connector or wire harness.

E-28 Oven sensor shorted. (when it measures < ~930)

    Common Component Checks Sensors

    NX58J77 Gas Range

PresenterPresentation NotesTemperature oven sensors are located inside the oven, but the connector is found in the back of the unit. Its important to understand that the sensor when testing its resistance does not work like refrigerator sensors. When resistance goes up so does the temperature. refer to the resistance chart on your fast track A defective oven temperature will trigger an error if its resistance drops below 930 or rises above 2950 ohms. However there will be no error if the sensor changes and is still within this range. This will cause the oven temperature to be incorrect.

  • Degree F Resistance 0 932.12

The oven sensor is considered to be

open if it measures > ~2950

The oven sensor is considered to be

    shorted if it measures < ~930 14

Common Component Checks Sensor Temp Chart

    NX58J77 Gas Range

PresenterPresentation NotesIf the sensor changes value enough to change the oven temperature but not enough to show an error code, use this chart to determine if the sensor is failing. The resistance must be within + or - 5% of the rated value.

    Igniter

Common Component Checks Testing GAS Igniter ( Glow )

PresenterPresentation NotesAfter some time the igniter does go bad, a good way to check the bake element is to check and see if its glowing when activated. If not glowing pull out the range, remove the back cover and check the amps of the igniter when activating.

  • 16

    Igniter connector

3.3 Amps when element turned on

    Igniter

Common Component Checks Testing GAS Igniter ( Amp Check )

PresenterPresentation NotesTo test the igniter, activate the bake or Broil which ever you are testing at the moment, put the clamp meter around the two wires and set to Amps. Once it reaches 3.0 Amps, gas should start flowing and the broil or bake will ignite. If the Amps are 2.7 or 2.8 it may or may not activate the heating element and the igniter should still be replaced. Replace if it doesnt reach 3.0 amps.

    Failure code CAUSE

    E-0E Door locking error

    Common Component Checks Door Lock

    * Lock motor Resistance : 2500 ~ 2700 Voltage : 120V * Micro switch COM-NO Replace or repair if harness is loose or disconnected.

PresenterPresentation NotesMeasure the micro switch and motor after taking off the harness from the heater. Check whether the lock works normally by pressing Cooking Time and Delay Start at the same time for 3 seconds. When 1 minute elapsed, the range will display E- 0E after the buzzer beeps 10 times if locking occurs continually, or if the door lock is not working during self-cleaning or steam is being operated.

Common Component Checks Partition Plunger Switch

Partition Switch Resistance : 1750 ~ 1850 * Replace or repair if harness has been loosen or disconnected

PresenterPresentation NotesCheck the Resistance of the partition switch. Replace or repair if harness has been loosened or disconnected

  • 19

    Convection Fan : 20 ~ 30 * Terminal Voltage of Convection Fan : 120V

    Common Component Checks Convection Fan

PresenterPresentation NotesCheck the resistance of the convection fan. It should measure 20 to 30 ohms and 120 V AC.

  • 20

Measuring Resistance OPEN (OL) = NG Any Value = Good Measuring Voltage 220V 240V

    Common Component Checks Convection Heater

PresenterPresentation NotesCheck your voltages after activating the convection cooking option. , if voltage is not present or wrong replace or repair harness. If the harness is ok replace or repair sub PCB. Measuring Resistance would be the same process as the broil element on the slide before.

  • Main PCB Heating Elements Convection Fan Internal oven lights

Sub PCB Display Lights Cooling Fans Communication to Main

PresenterPresentation NotesA bad TCO will shut down the Sub PCB, The sub pcb controls the display LEDs , Cooling Fans and Communication to the Main PCB. The Main PCB controls the Heating elements , convection fan or fans and internal oven lights.

  • DLB Dual Line

    Break

    Convection Element

    Relay

    Bake Element Relay

    Broil Element Relay

PresenterPresentation NotesThe main PCB will have the DLB dual line break relay , the convection element relay, the bake element relay and the Broil Element relay.
