Start playing media content immediately with the embedded MagicInfo S solutionMagicInfo S, including the content player, is embedded within each Samsung LFD, enabling easy operation. MagicInfo S software is embedded based on the Samsung System-on-Chip (SoC) technology, where hardware and software, such as a CPU, flash disk memory (FDM) storage, a graphic engine, and double data rate (DDR) memory are implemented. The solution requires no external media player or cumbersome set-back box (SBB), which reduces equipment costs, and enables users to take advantage of time-saving plug-and-play operation. For additional time savings, MagicInfo S supports various codecs, so no file conversion is needed. MagicInfo S solution is offered as MagicInfo Premium S, an economic yet powerful solution for standalone display, and MagicInfo VideoWall S, an easy-to-use and efficient video wall signage solution embedded within Samsung video walls.

MagicInfo Premium S supports content play and remote management both with and without network connection. For digital signage without network connection, users can simply display port media files on a USB drive, plug the USB drive into the LFD, and then watch the content play on the LFD. With the embedded solution and USB drive Auto Play, users can begin developing and displaying dynamic content right out of the box. It also supports various video and audio codecs without additional external media player required.

Convenient tools that streamline message development and display

Schedule and manage content easily using handy scheduling toolsCustom content can be conveniently scheduled directly on the LFD or remotely over the network, helping companies save money and resources on content management tasks. With this convenience, users can quickly change messages based on changing promotions and consumer habits. They can also:

• Schedule content that changes in various time increments, such as seconds, minutes, hours or years, using a calendar-like schedule view.

• Check the status of a selected schedule, and cancel publishing when needed.

• Publish schedules to selected device groups.

• Reschedule automatically with updated content or play lists.

For direct content management, including local scheduling, users can operate the remote controller as an input device. Direct content management also supports internal or USB drive Auto Play and local scheduling. Small shops can use this function to customize when content is played. For example, a small bakery and deli could set the display to automatically turn on during store hours, and turn off when the shop is closed. The display could be set up to play information about muffins and croissants in the morning, and sandwiches and salads at lunchtime. Ads could be tailored to suit adults in the morning as they grab breakfast on the way to work, and children during after-school hours, when they accompany parents to pick up deli foods for dinner.

Control LFDs—even from a remote locationWith remote device management, administrators can manage detailed settings for video displays remotely from a PC in the company network. Remote device management requires MagicInfo Premium Server, an additional solution that can be expanded without installing a set-back box (SBB) or changing the current LFD solution. Administrators simply connect to Premium Server from any PC browser in the network and manage LFDs connected to the company network via Internet or intranet. The server then sends commands to the network-connected LFDs.

Remote management functions include turning displays on and off, and monitoring the name and network address of each display. Administrators can remotely configure, monitor, adjust and update multiple LFDs.

Additionally, administrators can remotely monitor, control and approve LFD content. From a remote, central location, administrators can view, manage and schedule content, and fix malfunctions.

Users can control LFD systems virtually anywhere, in near-real time. They can:

• Monitor the state of individual displays.

• Adjust power, source change, panel, volume, color, brightness and RGB values.

• Check storage via network connection.

Content can be updated, positioned, edited and resized on the remote PC and then displayed on the LFD over the network.

For even greater convenience, users can schedule and publish content to the media player. The web-based management application supports the delivery of sophisticated content to numerous video displays remotely, without the need to physically visit each one.

Simplify video wall setup with no need for SBBsThe embedded MagicInfo VideoWall S display solution supports content display for video walls enabling companies to entice the audience with dazzling video wall creations. Without the need for a separate set-back box (SBB) PC or scheduler software, the solution lowers not only the startup cost but also operation and maintenance costs. Using this solution, content managers can manage content on video walls with ease.

MagicInfo VideoWall S ensures flexible display management and dynamic arrangement of displays, which provides the whole unique customer experience. Displaying content from different sources such as PC and HDMI can be scheduled for specific dates and times in advance to make a meaningful impact on the audience. For example, showing Sports TV program between pub information at the time of live sports game is available with MagicInfo VideoWall S. For a more dynamic display, content managers can play content from a single or multiple video clips for different displays. So, the video content as many as the number of LFD displays can be played simultaneously. For a single video clip or an image, managers can choose to show it across all screens or repeat the same image over several individual screens. Finally, individual LFD screens can be arranged in unique shapes for more artistic presentation, and be displayed horizontally or vertically for optimal view.

This flexibility allows content managers to find customized ways to amaze viewers with animated visuals and real-life-scale content. MagicInfo VideoWall S supports display of images and videos on up to 16 (4 x 4) displays, with the content displayed in full HD (FHD) quality across all video walls. For example, a video wall of this size offers 220 sq. in. of screen area using 55 in. LFDs. Such a noticeable display yields more than enough viewing area to make a meaningful impact on customers.

The MagicInfo VideoWall S solution also supports a unified control of video wall, which enables easy adjustment and control of brightness, volume, power, and source input. Just one adjustment of brightness, for example, affects all displays without having to individually adjust for each display.

CPU with an embedded GPU and a built-in media player, 2nd

Generation SSSP eliminates the need for an external PC or media

Generation SSSP is equipped with various features that simplify

content creation, such as picture-in-picture (PIP) viewing, which can

be enlarged to encompass over 50 percent of the display screen. The

built-in Samsung MagicInfo Player S2 can handle a large amount of

In addition, upgraded 2nd Generation SSSP integrates various

up Samsung Smart Signage with the Samsung setup wizard. When

Smart Signage is turned on for the first time, a step-by-step wizard

function properly. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to set

language, display orientation, network configurations, clock settings,

player settings and TV tuner settings (displays with tuners only).

2nd Generation SSSP includes a new Home screen created to make

life easier for Samsung Smart Signage users. This new Home screen

features a large tile UI that provides quick access to main functions

and frequently used settings from a single screen. Operations that

now take as little as one or two clicks. Plus, the large icons on the

Home screen support touch input with the simple addition of the

Touch Overlay option, making the control of Samsung Smart Signage

MagicInfo Player S2 running on the upgraded SoC processor of 2nd

different time slots for selected content to fit business operation

needs.

• Multi-channel. Set up multiple schedules independent from one

another to switch almost instantly between different schedules

• Mobile Instant Play. Send content from a smartphone directly to

Samsung Smart Signage over built-in WiFi for instant playback,

with no need for a PC.

In addition, MagicInfo® Server provides a single unified server to

manage all Samsung Smart Signage, from standalone to video wall

content, and offers a variety of server-based features.

• Centralized remote management. Manage multiple display

deployment remotely from a central location with capabilities that

range from hardware control to content publishing.

• Datalink support. Automate the updating of content information

that changes at scheduled times.

• Backup Player. Designate a backup player to continue displaying

Generation SSSP

2nd Generation SSSP is also available to Partner System Integrators

(SI) as a platform to develop proprietary solutions without having

to design and build their own boxes. The upgraded SoC processor

Player S2 simplifies the process of creating compelling content

by providing businesses with pre-made, modernized templates

designed for specific needs in various vertical markets. Unlimited-

use, royalty-free images are included with the templates, which

convey a professional image and serve as a valuable resource when

businesses do not have images of their own.

The provided templates can be fully customized using the Samsung

MagicInfo Author application on a PC, but the Template Manager

embedded in the device together with MagicInfo Player S2 allows for

PC-less template customization. By adding Touch Overlay option,

which provides familiar touch interaction, content customization

becomes even more convenient and intuitive.

Use various devices to create dynamic digital signage

content

The full-fledged Author application creates impactful digital signage

content through the MagicInfo solution, but its wide range of

functions and customizations may be overwhelming for some users.

Web Author is a simpler more intuitive version of Author that enables

users to create and customize content for Samsung Smart signage

by simpling connecting online. Because this tool is web-based, there

is no need to install the tool every time the user works on a new

computer.

Simplify content delivery with flexible, easy-to-use functions without needless equipment

Deploy content to Samsung Smart Signage using various

delivery methods

A variety of options are available for publishing content from various

sources to Samsung Smart Signage. A USB device can be simply

plugged into the display to copy its contents to the device's storage

or the USB content can be played directly from the USB through the

convenient auto play feature. In addition, the 2nd Generation SSSP

built-in Wi-Fi enables wireless publishing of content to Samsung

Smart Signage by means of the Mobile Author feature. The published

content can be played according to published schedules. The

Mobile Instant Play feature available through a provided mobile app

allows content on smartphones to be played instantly and wirelessly

on Samsung Smart Signage. With the mobile app installed on a

smartphone, content can be uploaded, selected and played through

the interface available on the smartphone.

Eliminate downtime when switching content to keep

viewers engaged

MagicInfo Player S2 utilizes the power of the upgraded SoC

processor by providing a variety of new features that enable richer

content delivery. For example, the Multi-Channel feature enables

multiple schedules to be set up on the Samsung Smart Signage.

This feature gives the user the flexibility to switch between different

schedules almost instantly without exiting the current content and

relaunching the new schedule, similar to changing channels on a TV.

This way businesses can deliver relevant, real-time content to keep

customers engaged in the messaging without interruption.

Manage video wall content without additional equipment

In addition to the standalone features MagicInfo Player S2 provides,

it is also capable of handling video wall content. Powered by robust

System-on-Chip (SoC) technology, the 2nd Generation SSSP

enables multiple displays to be configured into a video wall without

any additional set-back boxes (SBBs) or PCs. MagicInfo Player S2

utilizes SSSP's upgraded performance to divide, sync and distribute

video wall output right from the embedded media player. Simply link

Smart Signage with a DisplayPort® (DP) connection and configure the

content to be either replicated on each display or enlarged over the

entire video wall. The content can be deployed to the video wall using

a conventional USB.

Run multiple displays through a single, unified server

Businesses can expand MagicInfo Player S2 capabilities by

connecting it to the MagicInfo Server. The new, unified server handles

both standalone and video wall usage cases for more convenient

display management. Samsung Smart Signage can be monitored and

controlled remotely over a network anywhere in the world through the

MagicInfo Server, as long as the user is online. This feature eliminates

the need for the user to be in the same physical location as Samsung

Smart Signage, thus enabling multiple displays in various locations

to be centrally managed. Additional convenient features are available

through the MagicInfo Server, such as Event Schedule, Backup

Player and RSS feed support.

Run multiple displays through a single, unified server

Samsung MagicInfo Server enables multiple network-based solutions

to be available for displays that are located at various physical

installation sites. Typically, a separate server must be dedicated for

different display uses. Standalone displays require a connection to

a Premium Server, and video walls require a connection to a Video

Wall Server. However, the new unified MagicInfo Server is universally

compatible and supports connections that previously required a

separate Lite Server, Premium Server and Video Wall Server.

Manage all Samsung Smart Signage remotely from a

central location

By connecting all Samsung Smart Signage to MagicInfo Server,

businesses have the benefit of monitoring and controlling the displays

remotely. This eliminates the time and inconvenience of managing the

displays at their physical locations. The scope of remote monitoring

ranges from simply powering the Samsung Smart Signage on and

off to checking the content being played on the devices. A mobile

management app is also available for smartphones, extending

Samsung Smart Signage control to mobile devices while on the go.

Extend usability with server-dependent enriched features

Samsung Smart Signage can connect to MagicInfo Server to utilize

its DataLink capabilty. DataLink enables Samsung Smart Signage

to update digitial signage content in synch with remote database

sources. The ability to automatically update content without

manually editing the content one by one keeps customer-facing

information valid and relevant with low effort. Automated update of

common online text-based information such as weather and financial

information is also available through RSS feed support provided by

MagicInfo Server.

The Backup Player feature allows important, critical content in a

multiple display setup to remain visible, even when an assigned

display malfunctions. By setting a display as the Backup Player of

another display that shows important information, MagicInfo Server

redirects and overwrites the content on the Backup Player with the

primary display's important information. This seemingly complicated

task requires only an initial setup, enabling MagicInfo Server to detect

the display's malfunction through real-time monitoring. When the

malfunctioning display is operational again, the content is restored.

The Event Schedule feature conveniently displays predefined content

when certain preset conditions are verified, while maintaining the

schedule. When the conditions are no longer valid, the display can

return to its regularly scheduled content. This feature is ideal for

many uses, from announcing a time-sensitive surprise promotion in

a store to posting an emergency alert message, all without manually

changing or rescheduling the regular content.

Access content from virtually anywhere with a web

connection

Among the many content authoring options available on MagicInfo-

enabled displays, Web Author is the most flexible, because it

provides easy access to content through a web connection from

virtually anywhere. And, it's easy to use because of its intuitive user

interface (UI). With the display connected to the MagicInfo Server,

even current content can be retrieved and edited from Web Author,

and then deployed to the display through MagicInfo Server. Plus, new

content can be created using templates with local images and videos,

and then deployed to the displays through the MagicInfo Server. Web

Author is easily accessible through a web browser, so it does not

need to be designated or registered, beforehand. Simply access the

Web Author URL and instantly start creating and editing content for

the Samsung Smart Signage.

Robust features provide access to rich content through the MagicInfo Server and the flexibility to change it quickly and easily.
