THE FINALE: The NL West champion Dodgers look for their fourth

consecutive win to close out the 2015 regular season and take on the

Padres in the finale of their three-game series. With yesterday’s win, the

Dodgers clinched home-field advantage for their NLDS showdown with

the Mets, which begins in just five days, Friday, October 9 at Dodger

Stadium.

The Dodgers have won three consecutive NL West titles and

reached the postseason three years in a row, a feat that had never

been accomplished before in franchise history. It’s the Dodgers’

14th NL West division title and the franchise will be playing

“October Baseball” for the 29th time (20th in Los Angeles) in

history.

Los Angeles has surpassed 90 wins for the third consecutive

season, a feat that had only previously been accomplished twice

in franchise history: 1976-78 (3) and 1951-56 (6).

In a new twist this year, all MLB games this afternoon will start

concurrently at 12:10 p.m. PT on the final day of the regular

season. The one exception is the Braves/Cardinals doubleheader,

which will begin at 10:00 a.m. PT.

Los Angeles has won five in a row over the Padres and a win

today would give the Dodgers their first sweep of San Diego

since a three-game series Aug. 30-Sept. 1, 2013 at Dodger

Stadium.

HOME-FIELD ADVANTAGE: The Dodgers have posted a 54-26 (.675)

record at home this year and will finish the season with one of the best

home records in franchise history:

10t. 1978 Los Angeles .667 (54-27)

10t. 1991 Los Angeles .667 (54-27)

A win today would give the club the top home winning

percentage in Los Angeles history and tie the 1980 club (55-27)

for the most home wins since the club moved west in 1958.

Today marks Fan Appreciation Day at Dodger Stadium, with

fans eligible to win prizes including a one-year lease for a 2016

C Class Mercedes-Benz, a LG 49” Class 4K UHD Smart LED

TV, a suite to a 2016 regular season game, a pitching lesson

from Orel Hershiser and more unique experiences.

Through 80 home dates, the Dodgers have welcomed a MLB-

club surpassed three million fans in attendance for the 29th time

in club history for the 19th time in the last 20 years. The Dodgers

AWARDS SEASON: Congratulations to Zack Greinke on locking

down the MLB ERA title last night with 8.0 innings of one-run ball to

lower his ERA to 1.66, the lowest mark by any big league pitcher

since Greg Maddux’s 1.63 ERA in 1995 with Atlanta. The Cy Young

candidate also leads the Majors in winning percentage .865 (1st, 19-3)

and WHIP (0.84), while ranking second with a .187 opponents’ batting

Today Greinke will be honored with the 10th annual Roy

Campanella Award, which is given to the Dodger player

who best exemplifies the spirit and leadership of the late Hall

Only one pitcher has previously accomplished the feat in Dodger history,

with Sandy Koufax doing so in 1965 (382 SO), 1966 (317 SO) and 1963

the Cardinals (1.87) – Source: Elias Sports Bureau.

WORTH NOTING: Adrian Gonzalez will finish the season leading the

Dodgers in hits (156), home runs (28) and RBI (90), marking the second

time he has led the club in all three categories (also: 2013). He is just the

NOTES:

Enters today’s start six strikeouts shy of

joining Randy Johnson (2000-02) and Curt

Schilling (2002) as the only pitchers since the

turn of the century to reach 300 strikeouts in

a single season…only one pitcher has

previously accomplished the feat in Dodger

history, with Sandy Koufax doing so in 1965

(382 SO), 1966 (317 SO) and 1963 (306 SO)

Last pitched on Tuesday against the Giants,

allowing just one hit in his third complete-game

shutout of the season (12th of his career),

recording his 16th win of the season in the

Dodgers’ 8-0 victory…struck out 13 against

just one walk on 104 pitches

Currently leads the Majors with a career-

high 294 strikeouts, the fourth-most in

franchise history…in franchise history, only

Sandy Koufax (6) and Don Drysdale (6) have

as many seasons with 200+ strikeouts, and

only Koufax (1961-66) accomplished the feat

in consecutive seasons

In his last 16 starts, he has gone 11-1 with a

1.25 ERA (17 ER/122.0 IP) and has limited

the opposition to a .174 average since July

3...posting a 11.36 strikeout per nine and a

9.06 strikeout-to-walk ratio, striking out 154

batters against just 17 walks in 122.0 IP

Has gone 11-3 in 16 starts at Dodger Stadium

this season, posting a 1.73 ERA (22 ER/114.2

IP) and a 0.83 WHIP…has limited the

opposition to a .185 average and has posted a

12.24 strikeout per nine (156 K/114.2 IP)

In his last start against San Francisco, he became

just the third pitcher over the last 30 years to

pitch complete games with at least 13 strikeouts

in two straight starts against a team in one

season: Randy Johnson against the Athletics in

1993 and Ben Sheets against the Braves in

2004…the last pitcher to do this in one calendar

month was Tom Seaver against the Pirates in

September 1972 (Source: ESPN.com’s Elias

Says Blog)

Posted a season high scoreless streak at 37.0

innings over six starts (7/3-8/7)…his career-long

streak is 41.0, set June 13-July 10, 2014…Luis Tiant is the last pitcher with multiple scoreless streaks of 37.0+ IP in his career, doing so in 1968 with Cleveland (41.0 IP) and 1972 with

Boston (40.0 IP)

Was named National League Pitcher of the Month for July, going 3-0 with a 0.27 ERA (1 ER/33.0 IP) in four starts and has limited batters to a .162 batting average…named NL Co-

Players of the Week along with teammate Zack Greinke for July 17-19, making it his seventh career NL Player of the Week honor, having won most recently for June 1-7, 2015

Selected to his fifth consecutive All-Star Game

Since his debut in 2008, he leads the Majors in ERA (2.44), opponents’ average (.207), strikeouts (1,739), and WHIP

(1.03), while also ranking among the MLB leaders in winning percentage (.671, 2nd), wins (114, T-4th), complete games

(21, 5th) and shutouts (12, T-1st)

Reached 100 career wins in only 217 starts on May 15 against the Rockies…needed the seventh fewest starts among active

players behind only Adam Wainwright (100th win reached in 189 starts), Justin Verlander (191 GS), Tim Hudson (202 GS),

Jered Weaver (204 GS), Cliff Lee (209 GS), and Bartolo Colon (212 GS)

Was selected as the NL’s Most Valuable Player in 2014 and has been honored the Cy Young Award three times in his career (2011, 2013 and 2014)…has also won the Rawlings Golden

Glove Award in 2011 and has been selected to the last four All-Star games (2011-2014)…is just the ninth all-time pitcher to win three or more Cy Youngs since the award was ins tituted

in 1956 and the first-ever to win the honor three times before the age of 27

Has topped the Majors in ERA in four consecutive seasons since 2011, becoming the first-ever pitcher to win four straight ERA titles…led the Majors with career-high 21 wins in both

2011 and 2014

Became just the fourth Dodger pitcher to win the NL MVP award, joining Sandy Koufax (1963), Don Newcombe (1956) and Dazzy Vance (1924), and the first Dodger overall to win

the award since Kirk Gibson in 1988

Threw his first-career no-hitter on June 18, 2014 vs. Colorado, striking out a career-high 15 batters on 107 pitches in Dodgers’ 8-0 win…his 15 K’s were the most ever for a Dodger in a
