TroubleshootingMost technical issues on your Equiso can be solved easily by following the advice in this chapter.

For additional tips and troubleshooting information, contact Equiso support at support.equiso.com.

15

3.1 No Picture Displaying

1. Your Equiso is connected to power via the AC adapter or through your TV’s powered USB port. (Section 1.7)

2. The Equiso is securely connected to the HDMI port and your TV is set to the correct input source. If you had trouble plugging the Equiso into the HDMI port you can use the included HDMI extension cable to give yourself more room. (Section 1.1)

3. Is the TV is turned on? Don’t feel ashamed if this is the step that fixes it.

4. Try plugging your Equiso into another HDMI port or another TV if available. If you find it works on another TV then go through the setup process and ensure you’ve downloaded the most current updates before trying again on the previous TV.

5. You’ve tried it all and still nothing. Have your TV’s model number ready and please contact us for support so we can help you see how amazing the Equiso is and not just have you read about it on the box.

16

3.2 Remote Connectivity Issues

1. Fully charge the remote until the light on the keyboard side is a solid blue. (Section 1.6)

2. Check that USB receiver is plugged into the Equiso. (Section 1.1)

3. Try to reestablish pairing of the remote with the Equiso by holding down SELECT and HOME for 3 seconds with the remote held next to the receiver on the Equiso.

4. Try pressing the on/off button on the remote to wake it from standby. This can happen if you’ve been watching a long movie or had yourself a marathon session on Netflix.

5. The “EQUISO” text on the remote is face up and pointed towards you.

6. Poor thing never had a chance (Please contact us so we can send you a replacement and we’ll alert its next of kin.)

17

3.3 WiFi Connection Issues

1. Check that your wireless network is functioning properly and you have internet on your other devices.

2. Make sure you’ve entered your password correctly. To enter symbols and numbers you have to hold down the “!123” key while entering and not just press it once. The caps lock key must be pressed again to return to lower case letters (it doesn’t act like a Shift key). You can turn on the on-screen keyboard if you are having trouble or need to enter symbols not shown on the remote keyboard. (Section 1.10)

3. The Equiso works on the 2.4Ghz spectrum. If your wifi network is set to 5Ghz you will need to either change that setting or set up a guest account on the 2.4Ghz spectrum.

4. If you are unable to see your wireless network try resetting the router and wait 10-30 seconds before reconnecting.

5. If you are experiencing poor reception or connection speeds we recommend using the HDMI extension cable to move your Equiso away from the back of the TV to eliminate any interference.

18

6. HD video streaming requires at minimum an 802.11g wifi network. If you are experiencing playback issues like lag or poor image quality please check that your router is compatible and set to “G” or “N” speeds. You also may need to change the channel of your router if other devices are causing interference. (refer to your routers manual)

7. Perform a factory reset. (Section 2.4)

8. Sadly, fewer wires doesn’t always mean fewer problems. Have your network & router info ready and please call us so we can get you up & running with no strings attached.

19

3.4 No Sound

1. Make sure you’ve turned the volume up on your TV to your usual level.

2. Turn up the volume on the Equiso’s remote.

3. If you are using a receiver for your home theatre make sure it’s set to the correct source.

4. Connect to your wifi if you haven’t done so already and download the latest update.

5. Perform a factory reset. (Section 2.4)

6. Unfortunately the silent film era isn’t make a comeback. Please contact us for support and have your TV’s model number ready so we can get this bird to sing.

General CareWhen the Equiso Smart TV Stick is not being used please store ina safe area. Do not expose it to harsh conditions such as water, or extreme temperature. Do not force cable & accessories into their parts or yank Equiso from the TV while operating.
