For more than 30 years, Darryl Pottorf has pushed many boundaries with his inspiring works of art. Upon returning from studies in Florence, Italy, Mr. Pottorf began taking classes from Robert Rauschenberg at the then Edison College. This led to many years of collaboration between the two. In addition to his art studies, Mr. Pottorf has an extensive architectural background, which is often reflected in his art. 4. Epicurean Delight in White A Private Dining Experience for Ten hosted by Chef Jean Claude Roge at his Restaurant, Blanc Donated by Jean Claude Roge and Lori Thompson

Jean Le Beouf, of the News Press, calls this “a magical place.” This is the latest concept by Jean Claude Roge, Parisian born restaurateur (Village Café, Captiva/La Brasserie, Ft. Myers), and Chris and Kaitlin Whitaker of Blu Sushi. Designed and built by Jean Claude, who is also a noted sculptor, the restaurant, as well as the food, are truly works of art.

5. Ding’s Darlings – Two Tri-colored Herons Jim Sprankle Sculpture Donated by Brenda and Dewey Tate
A spectacular three-foot tall life-size sculpture “Ding’s Darlings” by famed island wildlife sculptor Jim Sprankle. Commissioned in 2001 and remarkable in its detail, it depicts the courtship dance of these island birds. Proceeds will be split 50-50 between Golisano Children’s Hospital and “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society. Ding’s Darlings is currently on display at The Sanctuary Golf Club, 2801 Wulfert Rd, Sanibel. A Rauschenberg Experience Private Tour for Ten (10) of Robert Rauschenberg ‘s Captiva Estate, a Rauschenberg Print and lunch at Doc Ford’s Captiva Donated by Rauschenberg Foundation and Doc Ford’s Captiva A private tour for ten (10) of the iconic Rauschenberg 20 acre estate on Captiva. Tour his original beach house, studios and the historic Ding Darling house aka “The Fish House.” A short presentation on the artist and his legacy is also featured. Included in this experience is Rauschenberg’s Captiva Coda framed 2002 Inkjet pigment transfer and acrylic on polylaminate, (40 x 30 inches unframed). This is a stunning, limited edition print of 150 donated by the artist himself to the hospital before his death. Each print is individually numbered and authenticated with the artist’s initials and thumbprint. Start or finish this tour with a luncheon in a private room next door at Doc Ford’s Captiva.
