PRINCIPAL’S CORNER: MR. ATKINS
Dear Sand Pine Families,
I can’t believe we are half way through the third quarter! This school year
is certainly going by fast! We received our new cafeteria tables and they look
beautiful. They were purchased from Ernie Morris and they have a lifetime
warranty. We are still waiting for a few more tables to come in to complete
our order.
I want to personally thank all of our families for supporting the American
Heart Association. Our school raised $2725.00 for the Jump Rope for Heart
event. Our students enjoyed participating in the jump rope station during
Field Day. 100% of the money raised will go directly to the American Heart
Association.
Our third, fourth, and fifth grade students will be taking the Florida Standards
Assessments beginning in February. We will start testing each day promptly
at 9:00 a.m. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, eats a
healthy breakfast, and arrives to school on time each day for testing. Our cafe-
teria will also be offering a free breakfast for each student that is taking the
FSA. Breakfast is served in our cafeteria beginning at 8:15 a.m.
Our school will be closed to all visitors (including lunch visitors) and volun-
teers on these days. Please see the testing schedule on the next page.
Our school will be closed on Friday, March 17th for teacher planning and
closed for Spring Break from Monday, March 20th to Friday, March 24th. I
hope that all of our students and families enjoy the time off and come back re-
laxed and ready to continue learning.
Sincerely,
Scott Atkins
Principal

FROM OUR SPONSORS
Did you know that the Sand Pine Elementary PTA offers local businesses the opportunity to
partner with us?
We invite all local businesses to become a “Sand Pine Business Sponsor”. Your business partnership will
help our school reach our goals this year. In return for your support, the PTA will encourage all of our over
500 student families to frequent our “Business Sponsors”. This is an easy and effective way to get the word
out about your business and market it directly to local residents. This is also a great way to give back to the
community!
If you’d like to become a Business Sponsor and see your business listed on our website, a banner on the Sand
Pine Elementary fence and featured at our school events, please contact [email protected].
