GCSE students examination results
We were delighted with the performance
of our Year 11 students. They performed
exceptionally well this year placing the
school amongst the top in the country.
As a result, students were well prepared for
their Sixth Form studies.
A total of 182 Year 11 students completed
their GCSEs at Sandringham. 91% of
students secured at least a 4 in English
and Maths GSCE (standard pass) with 79%
achieving a 5 or over (strong pass.)
The Attainment 8 score, the average of
students’ best 8 subjects, was 6.37,
equivalent to a B grade with 43% of all
grades being a grade 7 or above (A grade).
The estimated Progress 8 score was 0.83
demonstrating that the Year 11 students
achieved almost a whole grade higher in
each subject compared to similar students
in other schools nationally. This puts
Sandringham in the top 100 non-selective
schools, as recognised by the Department
for Education.

Higher education destinations of Year 13
students 2018
We are very proud of all our Year 13 students
who went on to secure their first choice places
at university or on apprenticeship programmes.
With such excellent results, students are now
reading for degrees at the country’s best
universities. Many students are studying at
prestigious Russell Group universities in traditional
subjects such as Law, Economics or Geography. Our
specialisms of STEM and the Arts are proving to be
excellent preparation for university applications,
with growing numbers of students in Art, Film and
Media, Engineering and Computer Science.
Sandringham also provides bespoke support for
non-university pathways with a growing number of
students choosing apprenticeships to continue
their education. Students have secured degree
apprenticeships at prestigious companies such as
Google and Harrods.
They are all now members of the Sandringham
Alumni and we are looking forward to keeping in
touch with them as they progress in their careers.
