PIE SALE REPORT For the first time in many years we did not operate the pie & cookie booth at the Mountain Festival. It was fun to be involved in the popular community event, however it became increasingly difficult to find volunteers to work in the booth over the week-end. With generous donations of fruit and wonder-ful helpers to bake the pies, we decided to take or-ders and sell pies directly out of the center.

We sold 110 pies in our first year (compared to 240 prepared last year for the booth). So, how did the change affect the net proceeds of the fundraiser? Here are comparisons between 2015 & 2016:

2015: Income = $4,088.50 ($3,676.50 from booth sales + $412 in donations)

Expenses = $1,027 ($55 booth application fee + $368 10% booth com-

mission + $397 pie crust + $207 supplies)

Net proceeds = $3,061.50

2016: Income = $2,694 ($1,581 pie sales + $1113 in donations)

Expenses = $292 ($194 pie crust + $98 supplies)

Net proceeds = $2,402

That’s a bit less money for a whole lot less work. Many, many thanks to those who donated fruit, promoted the sale, and rolled, filled, baked, bagged and bought the pies.

A tentative date has been set for the 2016 Candi-dates’ Forum. The event has had wonderful re-sponse in the past attracting candidates for City, County and State offices. Hear from the individuals followed by an explanation of the ballot measures. Date & time will be confirmed by September 30th.
