"A BYLAW TO DESIGNATE THOSE BYLAWS OF THE CITY OF

TERRACE WHICH MAY BE ENFORCED BY MEANS OF A FORM OF TICKET."

WHEREAS Section 264 of the Community Charter authorizes the Council to, by bylaw: A. Designate those bylaws which may be enforced by means of a form of ticket

prescribed by regulation under Section 273 of the Community Charter; B. Designate bylaw enforcement officers for the purpose of enforcing bylaws by

means of a prescribed form of ticket; and C. Designate an offence against a bylaw by means of a word or expression on a

ticket. AND WHEREAS Section 265 of the Community Charter authorizes Council to, by bylaw: A. Establish a fine in relation to an offence not greater than $1,000 as prescribed by

regulation under Section 273; and B. In the case of a continuing offence, establish a fine not greater than $1,000 in

relation to an offence for each day that the offence continues. NOW THEREFORE, the Municipal Council of the City of Terrace, in open meeting assembled, hereby enacts as follows: 1.0 The Bylaws listed in Column 1 of Schedule “1” of this Bylaw may be enforced by

means of a ticket in the form prescribed for the purpose of Section 264 (1)(a) of the Community Charter.

2.0 The persons appointed to the job positions or titles listed in Column 2 of Schedule

“1” to this bylaw are designated as bylaw enforcement officers pursuant to Section 264 (1)(b) of the Community Charter for the purpose of enforcing the bylaws listed in Column 1 of Schedule “1” opposite the respective job positions.

3.0 The words or expressions set forth in Column 1 of Schedules “2” through “21” to this Bylaw, designate the offence committed under the bylaw section number appearing in Column 2 opposite the respective Column 1.


Ticket Information Utilization - 3 - Consolidated Bylaw No. 1827-2005 4.0 The amounts appearing in Column 3 of Schedules “2” through “21” of this Bylaw

are the fines set pursuant to Section 265 (1) of the Community Charter for the corresponding offences designated in Column 1.

5.0 This Bylaw hereby repeals and replaces “City of Terrace Ticket Information

Utilization Bylaw No. 1193-1990” and amendments thereto. 6.0 This Bylaw shall take effect upon the date of its adoption. Amendments shall

come into force upon date of adoption or by an effective date noted in the respective bylaw.

7.0 This Bylaw shall be cited, for all purposes, as “Ticket Information Utilization

Bylaw No. 1827–2005.”

This Bylaw is consolidated for convenience only. If discrepancies exist between this consolidation and the original bylaw, the original bylaw shall prevail.
