The 3rd Quarter of the year comes to close on December 31,2019.Since it is the beginning of the new calendar year, I take this opportunity to wish all the readers a very happy, prosperous and more activities relating to skill development across the Country during 2020.In the 1st month of the Quarter we observed Rastriya Ekta Diwas on October 31,2019 remembering the great iconic leader Iron Man of India – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, wherein CEO administered the pledge to all the employees. For IISSSC, this quarter has been satisfactory. We had a number of important and productive meeting with various Organizations and decision makers. During this period IISSSC also participated in a number of Exhibitions& Seminars. At a Rojgar Mela jointly organised by IISSSC&Paschim Bangla Society for Skill Development (PBSSD) held at ITI Amtala, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal on December 06, 2019 out of 178 candidates who appeared for interview 168 number of students were short listed for employment .The Prize Winners of World Skill Kazan visited IISSSC Kolkata office and shared their views. While I am presenting an overview of one various activities, I am also congratulating Team IISSSC for their efforts.
Meeting & Seminars·A meeting was held with Haryana Skill Development Mission for forwarding Apprenticeship Program under NAPS.
·CEO attended Chromium 2019 which was addressed by Hon'ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.Therein the use of chromium in Stainless Steel Industries and the growing role of Stainless Steel was discussed.
·This was followed by 'Metal Conclave Seminar' in New Delhi and 'Indian Steel Industry Road Map for 300 Million Tonnes-Vision 2030' wherein papers from IISSSC were presented by Mr. Sushim Banerjee CEO IISSSC and Ms. Varsha Tibrewal Sr. Executive (Training & Operations).
For monitoring the progress and activities of IISSSC, meetings of Finance Committee and Board Meeting were held,wherein the members deliberated on various matters and provided their guidelines.
Workshops &Rojgar Mela- During this quarter there had been 5 workshops viz FIT India Plogging; Apprentice Workshops at New Delhi; Awareness Program by St. Xavier's University for Special Projects at Kolkata, Capacity Building Workshops at New Delhi, Smart Affiliation Process for SSCs at NSDC New Delhi and Rojgar Mela at ITIAmtala 24 Parganas South, West Bengal.

Technical Activities- Training activities during this period have been praiseworthy. On a Pan India basis training under various schemes in different job roles of IISSSC have been conducted, assessments made certi�cations done and a good number of candidates have been placed in various Organisations. To mention brie�y a total of 1225 candidates have completed training in Job Roles of Machinist, Mobile Equipment Maintenance, Welding, Fitter Electrical Assembly, EOT Overhead Crane Operator, Fitter Levelling, Alignment & Balancing, House Keeping with Mechanised Equipment. The schemes under which trainings have been done are summed up as follows: -
Other than the aforesaid activities parallelly there have been encouraging details on PMKVY 2 STT & RPL 4.0 during Q3 which are as follows:-
