We are going to speak about the most important monument in Nájera, Santa María La Real.

Santa Maria La Real, the monastery, was founded by García Sanchez III "of Nájera" and his wife Doña Estefania . It is a very important monument in la Rioja. It is 962 years old.

There is a virgin inside the cave.

This is the story : King Don Garcia wants

to build a monastery in 1052 because one day he goes hunting with his eagle. The eagle goes after a pigeon. Don García and the eagle find a cave.
