Santa & Cole centra sus esfuerzos en el diseño de elementos urbanos que permitan la creación de mejores espacios, más humanos y de mejor experiencia de uso. Nos interesamos por la ciudad de dos velocidades: la de ritmo lento y peatonal que invita al descanso y también la ciudad de alta velocidad, tecnológica, la Smart City.
Para la ciudad de ritmo lento ofrecemos elementos de mobiliario urbano bien diseñados, ergonómicos con identidad y sentido colectivo. Editamos elementos útiles y perdurables fabricados por industrias cercanas y comprometidas con el medio ambiente.

Por encargo de nuestros editores, Miguel y Gonzalo Milá, padre e hijo, dos grandes autores de elementos urbanos contemporáneos, acometieron la difícil tarea de dibujar un banco para el mercado internacional del siglo XXI, que viajase plano, desmontado, formalmente humilde, multicultural, de gran confort y sobria estampa, y producible sin complejidad en economías sencillas incluso con materiales locales. El primer banco urbano global, en definitiva. El resultado es HARPO, el más simpático y travieso de los hermanos Marx, reconocible en todo el mundo sin necesidad de palabras
La familia HARPO se forma por el banco, la silla y la banqueta sin respaldo, y se presenta vestida con listones finos de madera FSC, listones anchos de madera FSC o listones de aluminio.
Materiales y acabados
Estructura de pletina de acero doblada y soldada con protección antioxidante y pintada en polvo. Asiento y respaldo formados por listones de madera europea o tropical, con certificación FSC acabada en aceite de dos componentes y con dos secciones: listón fino de 35x35mm o listón ancho de 90x30mm.
La familia HARPO también admite listones fabricados en extrusión de aluminio de 90x30mm acabados anodizados, un material reciclado, reciclable e inalterable que gana presencia en las ciudades más sostenibles. Tornillería de anclaje de los listones en acero inoxidable.
Instalación
El banco se entrega desmontado. Se fija al pavimento mediante dos pernos de acero por pata, tratados con protección antioxidante, que se introducen en los orificios previamente realizados en el pavimento y rellenados con resina epoxi, cemento rápido o similar. Con el elemento se adjuntan las instrucciones de montaje. Los listones de madera incorporan unos casquillos metálicos para facilitar el montaje.
Mantenimiento
No requiere mantenimiento funcional, salvo que se desee conservar el color original de la madera.
On commission from our editors, father-and-son team Miguel and Gonzalo Milá – two big names in contemporary street furniture design – undertook the difficult task of drawing a bench for the 21st-century international market. It had to be able to travel flat, unassembled, be humble and multicultural in shape, very comfortable and sober in figure, and easy to produce in simple economies, even with local materials. In a nutshell, the first global urban bench. The upshot is HARPO, the friendliest and cheekiest of the Marx brothers, recognisable worldwide without the need for words. A happy friend for all public and private projects.
The HARPO family comprises the bench, chair and backless bench, and comes in narrow FSC wood slats, wide FSC wood slats, or aluminium slats.
Materials and finishes
Bent and welded steel plate structure with anti-rust protection and powder paint finish. Seat and back made of European or tropical wooden slats with FSC certification, finished with oil in two-component and with two sections: narrow slat of 35x35 mm or wide slat of 90x30mm.
The HARPO family can also be made with 90x30 mm extruded aluminium slats with an anodised finish – a recycled, recyclable and highly resistant material that is increasingly being used in more sustainable cities. Anchor screws for the stainless steel slats.
Installation
The bench is delivered dismantled. It is attached to the ground by two anti-corrosive treated steel pins per leg, which are placed in holes that are drilled into the road surface and filled with epoxy resin, quick-setting cement or similar. Includes assembly instructions. Metal ferrules on the wooden slats make them easy to assemble.
Maintenance
No functional maintenance is required, except to preserve the original colour of the wood.
