FAILOVER SCENARIOS

1. Dubai Complete Primary site is down2. Primary site Network-Security Infra /WAN link link is down3. Cisco UCS server/computing is down at primary site4. Storage disk failure at primary site 5. SAP Prod APP/DB is not responding6. SAP Quality/Development Application is not responding




ISYX PRIMARY SITE IS DOWN

• SAP HANA IT INFRA admin will receive alert as we are having cloud monitoring for network devices /Link

• INFRA Admin will update the DNS entry on the cloud portal with DR public IP

# Expected Downtime :- 30 Minutes (Time taken to updates the DNS entry) or Alternatively we can create different DNS entry on the portal for DR site and update to end client .

CISCO UCS SERVER/COMPUTING IS DOWN AT PRIMARY SITE

• INFRA Admin will receive an alert from Client Network monitoring tool (NNM) .• SAP Admin will receive an alert from Solution Manager .• INFRA Admin will stop the storage replication • INFRA Admin will update the DNS entry on the cloud portal with DR public IP or update to end clients to use alternate URL .• INFRA Admin will open a Support case with Server vendor to raise an RMA or fix the server related issue .• Once the server issue is resolved INFRA Admin will start the replication from DR to DC and update the DNS entry so that client can start accessing the DC site .

# Expected Downtime :- 30 Minutes (Time taken to updates the DNS entry) or Alternatively we can create different DNS entry on the portal for DR site and update to end client




STORAGE DISK FAILURE AT PRIMARY SITE

• Every storage disk are configured in RAID 1 , so failure of a single disk will not have any effect to production as the mirror disk will take over.

• INFRA Admin will raise a support case with vendor and replace the faulty disk with out any downtime window.




SAP PROD APP/DB IS NOT RESPONDING

• SAP Admin will receive an alert from Solution Manager .• INFRA Admin will receive an alert from NNM• INFRA Admin will update the DNS entry on the cloud portal with DR public IP or update to end clients to use alternate URL .• SAP Admin will troubleshoot and fix this issue and update to INFRA admin• INFRA Admin will start the replication from DR to DC and update the DNS entry so that client can start accessing the DC site .




SAP QUALITY/DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION IS NOT RESPONDING

• SAP Admin will receive an alert from Solution Manager .• INFRA Admin will receive an alert from NNM• SAP Admin will troubleshoot and fix this issue .• In case of Disaster or data loss INFRA Admin create virtual copy data and storage and

Mount to new Quality/DEV App .




HEALTH CHECKUP

• INFRA Admin will stop the replication as DC site and failover DNS entry on the portal to DR• INFRA Admin generate health check report for servers ,storage, replication.• INFRA Admin will conduct software upgrade for INFRA devices or apply hotfix if required • SAP Admin will generate Health check report for Prod App /DB and apply hotfix if required• INFRA Admin will start replication to copy incremental data to DC and failover the DNS entry




Future Roadmap

• Additional storage on both DC and DR for SAP Quality/DEV/SM/IDES redundancy.
