What is a Revision? What is a Support Package Stack?

In the context of the SAP HANA platform:

• Corrections are shipped in the form of Revisions and Support Packages of the product• New capabilities are only introduced twice a year, every time a new SAP HANA Support

(SPS) is released.

• For easier handling, the numbering of SAP HANA SPS and Revisions had been aligned.

Revision 80 for example refers to the first SAP HANA Revisions which contains SPS 08

What does the SAP HANA Maintenance Revision offer?

The SAP HANA Maintenance Revisions are minor-version

shipments of the last SAP HANA Revision within a certainSPS, for example 69.01, 69.02 or 74.01.

Maintenance Revisions by definition only provides fixes for:

o Major bugs concerning critical functionality in key SAP HANA

scenarios (Business Suite on SAP HANA, SAP BW on SAP

HANA, SAP HANA Data Marts)

o Production systems or endangered Go-lives

within the next 6 weekso Bugs with non existing workaround

o Minor code dependencies and code changes or impact

SAP offers the SAP HANA Zero Downtime Maintenance capability

based on connectivity suspend feature of the SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP stack:
