It’s been over 5 months since I came back from South Africa. What an incredible 6-month journey! Let me give you a short summary of everything that happened there, at Missions Discipleship Training (MDT), South Africa:
Inside Out: A whole month assessing our relationship with our Heavenly Father and what is hindering us from getting closer to Him. I realized I believed I deserved salvation because of my good deeds but, because of my bad deeds, God was always punishing me – not fully grasping God’s love and His amazing grace.

Rural Outreach: In rural Lesotho our small group worked with a local church. We didn’t have anything to offer other than our actions – to show people around us that we loved them because Jesus loved them first. And we testified transformation in people: for instance, a teenager who was always looking for a fight was now looking for Jesus and testifying at his school what God had done with and for him, even inviting us to prepare a program to share at his school.
Inner City Outreach (ICO): Inner city Pretoria. Cheryl: 27 year-old prostitute; abused by her boyfriend/pimp; abandoned by everybody. LOVED BY GOD.José: 25 year-old homeless man; robbed of everything; abandoned by everybody; often considering suicide. LOVED BY GOD. They are just some of the many people that changed my life. I am blessed and I want to be a blessing to others, by LOVING them.
World Faiths Outreach (WFO): Yes, Muslims and Hindus love God and mankind too. And that’s what we learnt in Laudim, outside Pretoria. Let’s love them back and show them the love of our Lord Jesus Christ in us!
Missions Mobilizing Training (MMT): The surprise week. And this one will remain a secret. Let’s just say we had a taste of what it means to serve God in persecution…& MMT
GO Challenge: Mobilize Africa to teach and motivate the African Christians to reach out to their own community, to share God’s love in a culturally sensitive way. My small team went to Soshanguve, a township north of Pretoria. We worked mostly with kids, thirsty for God’s love and to learn more about our Savior Jesus Christ.
