SASH PRESENTATION

Page 2: Sash presentation task 3&4

• This poster uses a image that is taken to grab sympathy of a man sleeping on the street you make you feel sorry for him (horrific imagery), Also just using a few words that’s relates to everyone stating that no one should be made to sleep on the street and at the bottom to have the logo for the charity. The colours that are with the poster are dull and plain as its not meant to be happy where you would use bright colour, all dark and shadowy as this isn't a nice subject but is a big problem and that’s why they use such sad images and dark contrast to make it look even worse for homeless people.

SIMON STREETS

Page 3: Sash presentation task 3&4

• This is a very simple but effective poster as it doesn’t contain anyone or thing other than hands holding open a magazine that says that the magazine is what this homeless person with be using to keep themselves warm tonight. Again using the sympathy vote as they have to use a magazine to be able to try keep warm whilst sleeping outside. The logo and in the bottom corner to be able to know who the charity is and what’s its for. The photo on the poster is of a bed in which the person should be staying but instead will be on a park bench on under cover in a shop store front.

CRISIS

• The main color of this is red and with that becomes very striking and is used to give a serious message. The poster contains no images and with this shows its just about telling the audience about what they do instead of showing them, the only problem with this is that you cant be going past and quickly glance as you need enough to read it all to be able to understand what the text is all about. Its not as impacting without a picture but still contains information to be able to help them, so this type of poster isn't using shocking imagery to gain money from people feeling sorry instead just tell them what it is about and what they do to help and how you donating is all that’s keeping them running in order to help people.

SASH

• This poster also doesn't use images it just informs you on the charity, giving you facts about homeless people that they are helping but can only help with your help from funding. They spotlight the word homelessness which your eyes are immediately taken to and you then know the top of the poster. Although it doesn’t use horrific imagery it does use statistics that are just as frightening to comprehend and this is the way they are trying to gain money to help with supporting the charity in order to help homeless people on a whole.

CRISIS

Page 6: Sash presentation task 3&4

COMPARING This two posters have taken two different approaches to get what they need which is to get volunteers or donations to keep the charity around to be able to help people but by using different techniques will mean attracting a different audience and that will show when you attract different people as the amount of donations you receive will vary as to home much that type of person can afford, but to most people pictures are more likely to react to pictures( especially those of a saddening nature) and less text as its a lot quicker to see and read even if the text that’s used is vital sad information if there's to much people will just ignore it and so I cant see the use of that technique being as good as hey hoped it to be. Even the logo that they have isn't appealing or interesting so wouldn’t attract whereas the logo for Simon on the streets isn’t as boring but also is only in the bottom corner so you know the company but isn’t taking up the majority of the page so has space to write whatever it wants
