All members of Southern Arts Society and theShutterLight Group are invited to celebrate theseason together. We have been doing the
“Chinese” gift exchange for many years which isalways fun. Everyone bring an artsy present toexchange ($10 value), one you have made yourself(we’ll let you slide if it’s purchased) or art supplies.Bring your favorite covered dish to share andwe’ll have a great meal and lots of fun. Spouses,
dates and friends are welcome to attend!

Shutter Light Group – Tues. Dec. 14th
The December meeting will start with a review ofthe Print Competition and end with a presentationby our own Hal Bryant on manual HDR (highdynamic range) photography! Bring your monthlyassignment photos from November and December(manipulation and abstract).The ShutterLight Group would like to thank
the judges of the print competition: RonAtchley of Lincolnton, Janet Boschker ofCharlotte and Randy McNeilly of Shelby. A totaof 71 prints were entered and judged! 17% wereawarded Blue ribbons, 31% Red ribbons, 50%White ribbons, truly outstanding for the first one.The bar has been set high!The judges each picked a favorite and gave it
a "Judges Choice Award". The winners
Bonita Lowe for "Star Burst"...Ellen Devenny for"Jackson" and Earl Humphries for "Dragonfly onLeaves". Best of Show went to Ellen Devenny for
"Life Lines".All the entries are now on display in Fireside
Gallery in the depot! Thanks to all whoparticipated in this venture, it could not have gonebetter!

& GALLERY ~ “Members Exhibit and 2011 Calendars”
Southern Arts Society members have artwork onexhibit and for sale in the gift shop and gallery. Workis available for sale – everything is “cash and carry” to suit your holiday shopping needs. Our 2011 handprinted calendars “Myths and Legends” are now onsale for $20 each. Frames are $25 each.SASI will be open on Sundays in December.
