Jolly green dayWelcome to Jolly Green Day. This event is to celebrate the 10th Anniversaryof the Friends of Telford Town Park and also the first full year of operation ofTelford Green Spaces Partnership.

The Friends are a voluntary group who exist to promote, conserve and protectthe 450 acres of beautiful lakes, park, wood and heathland that is TelfordTown Park and nature reserve.

Telford Green Spaces Partnership is a forum of 19 voluntary groups, eachof whom help maintain and protect a public green space in the borough ofTelford.

We hope that you have an enjoyable day with us and that you find some newinterest in the outdoors that you will be able to take away with you and enjoyin the future.

Jolly Green Day is delighted to be registered as a Community GamesEvent. Community Games offer something for everyone. You don’t need tobe sporty to take part - they are just as much about celebrating culturalachievement as sporting endeavour. The aim of the programme is to bringpeople together, supporting them to organise a Games for their community,which might be their street, estate or local interest group - essentially theGames will be run by communities for their communities. They provide awonderful opportunity for people from all backgrounds right across thecountry to create their own Olympic or Paralympic moment and carry on thelegacy and spirit of London 2012. TELFORD GREEN SPACES PARTNERSHIP (TGSP) Zone TGSP was formed in August 2011 as an umbrella group for all the ‘Friends of’ groups within the Telford & Wrekin borough, supporting green spaces within their area. Its main objective is to share the benefits of ideas and how to get things done but above all the benefits that would come from a joint approach to funding. Currently there are 19 voluntary group members of the TGSP, some of which are represented here today.

Come into the TGSP Zone and find out about the Partnership, the work of individual member groups and organisations, volunteering opportunities on offer and join in lots of fun craft activities linked to the great outdoors
