DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY This isa3-daynationalcontinuingmedicaleducation (CME)meetingdesignedformedicaloncologists,hematologists,radiationoncologists, oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists,physician assistants, residents and fellows in Hematology/Oncologyaswellasotherhealthcareprofessionalsinvolvedinthemanagementofcancerpatients.The9thAnnualNewOrleansSummerCancerMeeting(NOSCM)isamajorCMEeventwellestablishedintheSoutheastregionoftheUnitedStates.Basedonevaluationsfromtheprevious8consecutiveyears,thismeetinghasbeenabletodeliverastate-of-the-arteducationalexperienceandhence,providehealthcareprofessionalswiththetoolstoofferthebestqualityofcaretotheirpatients.The9theditionofthisCMEprogramwillfocusonintegratingmajoradvancesinbasicsciencesandnewtechnologiesintotheroutineclinicalpracticewhichcantranslateintoamorepersonalizedmedicine.Moreover,the 9th edition has included novel topics of great interest forhealthcareprofessionalsrelatedwithcancercare.ThelengthoftheNOSCMallowsplentyoftimefortheaudiencetodiscussindepthdifferent topics inmedicaloncologyandhematology,andsharetheirthoughtswithnationalandinternationalleadersin the field of lung cancer, melanoma, prostate cancer, breastcancer,kidneycarcinoma,gastrointestinalmalignancies,ovarianand cervical cancer, head and neck cancer, supportive of care,geriatric oncology as well as many hematologic malignanciesincluding multiple myeloma, lymphomas and leukemias.Thegroup of guest faculty is represented by recognized cliniciansand researchers from premier cancer centers in the UnitedStates,Belgium,andArgentina.Themostrelevantclinicalandinvestigational data presented at major cancer congresses suchasthe2013AmericanSocietyofHematology(ASH),the2014American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the 2013EuropeanSocietyofMedicalOncology,andthe2014AmericanAssociationforCancerResearchwillbepresentedanddiscussedinthisforum.
