Thank You to everyone who helped made the dinner and dedication such a wonderful success: those who worked to get the kitchen ready, those who prepared and served the meal and did the clean up and all who attended. It is my hope and prayer that this will be the first of many parish social gatherings.

God Bless, Fr. Dan

Religious Education News & Updates “Christ has no body on earth but yours” –Teresa of Avila

First Communion/Eucharist Last workshop will be next Sunday, April 2 at the Center from 1:00-2:30 pm.

Grade 1 Mass will be next weekend at the 10:45, with reserved seating.

Beginning Next Weekend

Eucharist Offertory: Our tradition has been to include our children who are preparing to receive Eucharist to participate in the Offertory. It’s a wonderful way to say to our children and their families, that yes, we are a faith community, we belong to each other, we are the family of St. Francis. The first pew on the right side will be designated for them with a reserve sign. The children will begin bringing up the gifts next weekend at all the Masses on April 1st & 2nd.

Let The Children Come

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all you parents who bring your children to

celebrate the Eucharist with us; they are a delight and joy and remind us of how wonderful a gift children really are. Please know that ALL children, no matter their age, are welcome here at St. Francis Xavier and

by our Lord. The Scriptures contain numerous passages about Jesus and the children and I would like to quote one of my favorites: “And the people were bringing children to him that he might touch them, but the diciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this

he became indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child will not enter it. Then he embraced

them, blessed them, placing his hands on them.” Mark 10: 13-15

Holy Week Sign Up Reminder

We are still looking for more volunteers to sign up to be Lectors, Readers, Eucharistic

Ministers, Servers and Foot Washers for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Masses. Please see the sign-up

sheets near the parking lot entrance.

March 26, 2017 Forth Sunday of Lent

His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man

or his parents, that he was born blind?” —John 9:2 As we continue our journey through this season of

Lent, we are met with the question of who is worthy in God’s eyes. Based on false expectations the

Israelites and the Pharisees never thought David would be chosen king or that Jesus would heal the man born blind. Worthiness may be found not in reputation or pedigree or appearance, but in one’s

heart.

Holy Father’s Prayer Intentions for March Support for Persecuted Christians

That persecuted Christians may be supported by the prayers and material help of the whole Church.
