    The Cooper Union is pleased to offer 4 artist-residency fellowships

    within the Outreach Pre-College Summer Program. The fellowships w

    be given to outstanding visual artists who teach in New York City

    area schools or cultural institutions. The residency provides spacious

    skylit professional studios for 4 weeks, July 11 August 8, in

    the painting and drawing department. An exhibition honoring the

    residents work will be sponsored by the Cooper Union, August 10 2

    in conjunction with the pre-college program. The artists in residence

    are also given opportunities to present their work to the summer

    program students and faculty and to participate in guest lectures,

    critiques, and other events.

    SUN-LIT STUDIOS AT THE COOPER UNION FROM JULY 11 - AUGUS

    All applicants MUST attend the portfolio review,

    withartwork ready for viewing. Portfolio Reviews

    will be held at 41 Cooper Square, 1st Floor.

    Arrive according to your last name

    A - M 10am - 12pm N - Z 12pm - 2pm

    Your portfolio should include about 10-20

    pieces. Bring in work, done at home or at school,

    that you feel best represents your abilities,

    motivation, and interests. Also include some

    drawings from observationdrawings made from

    looking at an actual object, place, or situation.

    The work does NOT need to be matted. If you

    have a sketchbook, please bring that, too.

    Outreach is a year-round program of studio

    courses, creative writing and art issues seminars

    for New York City area high school students.It is designed for students who are interested

    in preparing a portfolio for college. Teachers,
