This year, as part of TOM’s “TTAG, You’re
It!” event, you are invited to take part
in a community art collaboration. A ‘found object’
sculpture-making space will be set
up at the Artisan’s Demonstration
Tent. You are invited to create
and re-create free-standing structures on which you can
design, draw, write and play in chalk.
Collaboration paintings and portraits also return to the
Demonstration Tent.

YOUR SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO US ! Emergency Response Plan
Every year, we seem to have to deal with a little rain. But nothing in recent memory was quite as paralyzing or as unexpected as the downpour that we experienced two years ago. Because ultimately, your safety is important to us, and we want to reduce the impact of an emergency before it occurs. The Summerfolk Emergency Response Team (SERT) has worked diligently to review and work through the Board’s Health and Safety policies and procedures, and we have developed a plan to deal with any emergencies that may arise. Although several things can be considered emergencies, we consider our most serious threat to be the elements. The Weather Network issues alerts for strong winds, heavy rains, thunder, lightning, severe heat or other potential weather problems, and if things are looking a little on the rough side, we will be paying close attention to the forecasts, as well as be in touch with our local news outlets for up to date coverage. In the event of an emergency, your SERT Team will work closely with the appropriate emergency service providers, such as police, !re, and medical, to determine how best to handle each situation and to consider whether an evacuation of the festival grounds might be necessary. The situation will be closely monitored and communication will be maintained with key volunteers. Please consider the following in the event of a severe storm:
trees, hilltops, and telephone poles.
valleys, ditches and depressions.
water and travel some distance from its point of contact.
electricity, such as tent poles.
by heavy rainfall, if seeking shelter in a ditch or low lying area. Should an evacuation be necessary, you will hear one (1) prolonged blast of a horn, and all patrons will be directed to leave the festival grounds. We are in negotiations to !nd shelter for festival-goers should the need arise, and will communicate this information when it becomes available. Three (3) consecutive !ve-second blasts of the horns will be made when the “all clear” is given and patrons can safely return. Announcements will also be broadcast on our local radio stations. Let’s keep our !ngers crossed however that it doesn’t ever get to that point. We will ensure that the appropriate equipment necessary to deal with an emergency is on hand and that information about the security of the immediate area a"ected and utility shut-o" plans are easily available. It was clear and very important to us not only to develop emergency plans, but also to convey these plans to our volunteers and to you, our patrons. Let’s stay safe, and
Your SERT Team
