INT. OFFICE - MORNING1 1

Two officers are seated at separate desks across the room from each other busy at work. A voice explodes into the room from offscreen.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (O.S.)Johnson, OMally, get your god damnasses into my office right now!

The two police detectives fly over the desks knocking overitems and causing a mess, racing towards the voice.

INT. CAPTAINS OFFICE - MORNING2 2

CAPTAIN STRIKERSit you asses down!

STRIKER, a 50s something black heavy build captain, isstanding with both fists clenched and hammered on the desk.

OMALLYWhat's this about s- (cut off)

CAPTAIN STRIKERShut your god damn mouth!

(Deep pause)

Both the men freeze in fear.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (CONTD)OK Johnson, OMally (nods at both),I've decided to take you both offyour suspension and put you backout on the streets...(pause)

Fast zoom-in onto his mouth.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (CONTD)...where you belong.

Both men approach the chairs like they just heard the wordscome from the mouth of Jesus Christ.

JOHNSONThank god, I was tired of all thatgod damn paperwork (with a smirk).

CAPTAIN STRIKERDid I invite you to talk? Who inholy god damn hell gave youpermission to talk?

Both men stop stunned and ashamed. OMally almost startscrying but tries to show the guys hes a tough guy.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (CONTD)I trust you two can get the jobdone, and without fail...andyes...you do get the job done. Butboys, you gotta watch your asses,especially after the stunt you guyspulled last month.

CUT TO:

EXT. URBAN STREETS DAY - DAY3 3

Quick chaotic running and chase sequence. OMally drops toone knee and takes aim.

OMALLYIve got a shot!

JOHNSON (OVER RADIO)Take it! Take the god damn shot!

Pull back to reveal Johnson talking to OMally on the radio

while standing next to him. Johnson responds back.OMALLY

Copy that! Say hello to my littlefriend (realy bad impersonation).

OMally takes a shot from the knee, then gets up and yells while firing at the suspect.

JOHNSONYoure doing it OMally, youregettin him! (whispers to himself)If only your pop was here to see

this. Boy would he be proud.OMally runs up to where the body is just as he finishes hisclip.

OMALLYJohnson, toss me your clip, Im out.

Johnson tosses the clip. Before OMally loads it, he stopsand looks back at Johnson. They both share a moment.

JOHNSONGo get em tiger!

OMally loads his gun and empties the mag into the suspect.He slowly wipes splattered blood from his face.

OMALLYI wanna see him try and break thelaw again.

Both high five and walk off down the street, arms over eachothers shoulders into the sunset.

CUT TO:

INT. OFFICE - MOMENTS LATER4 4

OMALLYI still dont see why we weresuspended for that.

JOHNSONYeah, it wasnt that big of a deal.

CAPTAIN STRIKERA BIG DEAL?! You shot the man 32times! For Christ sakes, we had to

identify the man by his teeth.OMALLY

Whats your point captain, thatsjust one more criminal off thestreets.

CAPTAIN STRIKERDammit OMally, he stole a SnickersBar and a Mountain Dew. Thats goddamn petty theft at best. For all Iknow you chased him out of thestore.

OMALLYWhatever.

JOHNSONCaptain, he got the justice hedeserved.

willing to forget it if you guys will agree to an immediate

reinstatement of your positions.

Both men get excited.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (CONTD)Agreed?

JOHNSONN AND OMALLYAgreed!

The captain for the first time smiles, stands up and handsthem their badges and guns, one which still has blood on it.

CAPTAIN STRIKERWelcome back men.

OMally kisses his gun. On the side is carved Jesus - ThePunisher. Johnson lifts his badge, rubs it on his shirt,then stares directly into the shiny brass workings.

CU OF BADGE,DISSOLVE TO

INT. OLD EMPTY BAR - AFTERNOON5 5

Both men sit at the bar taking shots and smoking cigarettes.The bar is pretty empty except for the old bartenderdelivering shots and cleaning glasses.

JOHNSON (TAKES DEEP BREATH)God damn it feels good to be backout on the streets.

OMALLYI know. I couldnt stand being inthat office, cooped up like a bird

wanting to fly and be free.

JOHNSONYeah doing all that damn paperwork.Unbelievable.

The men pause, Johnson takes a long drag from the cigarette.

JOHNSON (CONTD)You know something OMally?

OMALLYYeah.

JOHNSONIve been thinking about retiring.

OMALLYWhat! Are you serious!

JOHNSONYeah Im serious, (laughs to self),I mean I love the job. You know theprotection of people and being ableto shoot things whenever I please.It's the best god damn job in the

world, but... I'm just getting sotired.

OMALLYJohnson you are the best cop onthis force, without you... I'm,I'm... I'm lost.

JOHNSONDammit Omally, don't talk likethat. Look how long have we beenpartners?

OMally thinks for a bit, counts on his fingers, stumbles with some words. Looks confused.

OMALLYSeven years? Yeah, I think itscoming on seven years.

JOHNSONIts been four, but during thattime the two of us, well we havebeen through a whole hell of a lot.And I've gotten to know you real

well. OMally you are probably thebest cop I have ever known. You'realways on time, you're passionateabout your job and well you're a

hell of a shot.OMALLY

I know, but Ive always had you by my side. Ever since my father

died...

JOHNSONIm going to finish the month out,then hand in my two weeks.

OMALLYWhat will you do when you leave?

JOHNSONProbably move to a quiet suburb,just outside of town. Take the kidand the wife sailing, you know,finally live life.

OMALLYWell, Im gonna miss ya buddy. Illget to see you from time to timeright?

JOHNSONProbably not.

The men share an awkward moment, then take another shot.Johnsons phone suddenly rings.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (V.O.)Where the hell is your radio!

JOHNSONIts in the car, sir.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (V.O.)

Well where the hell is OMallys?OMally signals that he accidently shot his with his gun,then gives an Oops expression on his face.

JOHNSONUmm, he doesnt know sir.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (V.O.)Well god dammit you two, there isreported drug deal going down overin the old Thompson PackagingBuilding.

JOHNSONWere on it sir!

Johnson hangs up, slams his phone on the bar and grabs abottle of tequila and starts chugging it.

JOHNSON (CONTD, DRUNK SHOUTING)(CONTD)

OMally, there is a drug deal goingdown in the old Thompson Packagingbuilding, the one right downtown inthe middle of a busy businesscenter tucked in between thetoddler day care center and thehighly explosive gas manufacturingcenter.

OMALLYShit!

JOHNSONI know!

CUT TO:

INT/EXT. THE BOOZE BAR - AFTERNOON6 6

The door is kicked open as both men run out to their car; a1970 Plymouth Superbird. They get in the car and start it up.

JOHNSONLets go!

The two drive through town in a driving montage with lots ofcrazy car maneuvers, crashes and jumps.

CUT TO:

EXT. THOMPSON PACKAGING BUILDING - AFTERNOON7 7

The car comes to a screeching stop. The two exit the carclumsily, OMally tries to do a slide roll over the car andfalls off. With guns drawn, they walk up the stairs to thebuilding. Johnson runs towards the door and does a doublefoot kick jump in to it and then falls to the ground.

OMALLYIve got it.

He shoots a few shots through the door. The door slowlyswings open.

INT. THOMPSON PACKAGING BUILDING - MOMENTS LATER8 8

A man is lying on the ground bleeding. Theres another guyrunning away. Johnson points at the wounded man.

JOHNSONYou think he could escape?

OMALLYIll make sure he cant. You goafter the other guy.

Johnson turns and runs after the other guy while OMallylooks down at the wounded man.

OMALLY (CONTD)Now if leave, just waltz on outtahere, are you going to try and getaway?

The criminal nods his head.

OMALLY (CONTD)I believe you, you seem like a nice

honest man...but just in case.OMally points the gun and shoots once into each leg. Thenstarts to run and catch up with Johnson.

EXT. ALLEY - MOMENTS LATER9 9

Johnson runs out of the back door and down the alley.Suddenly Johnson pulls in front of the alley in the car.

JOHNSONGet in the car! He got away!

OMally dives through the window. The car takes off withOMally still hanging out, does a sharp turn and OMallyflies out. The car screeches to a stop, slowly reverses andpicks up OMally who ashamedly gets back in.

EXT. COUNTRY ROADS - MOMENTS LATER10 10

The two are in hot pursuit in a countryside high speed carchase. They follow the suspect down a country road.

OMALLYIve got a shot! Im gonna take it!

JOHNSONDammit OMally, sit down, thisaint textbook.

OMally aims and shoots, a farmer drops down dead as the carpasses.

OMALLY (WHISPERS TO SELF)Fuck.

JOHNSONWhat? What was that?!

OMALLYNothing! OK Ive got him in mysights!

OMally shoots out a back wheel, the car turns on the nextroad towards a corn field. The suspect car stops and a mangets out and heads towards the field. OMally jumps out ofthe moving vehicle and runs into the field after him.

JOHNSON (REALLY DRAMATIC)

Nooooooo! Stay out of the corn!OMally walks with gun drawn through the field. An above shotreveals two shapes approaching OMally fast from both sides.

OMALLYOh shi-

EXT. CORN FIELD - MOMENTS LATER11 11

OMally slowly comes walking out of the field, brushing dirtoff his shoulder and looking down at the ground.

JOHNSONOMally, you ok?

OMALLYI think he got away.

JOHNSONI heard shots, what in bloodyblazes just happened in there?

OMALLYI dont really wanna talk about it.

JOHNSONWell...did You get a shot off onhim or anything?

OMALLYLook, can we just go back to theother guy we got?

JOHNSONI called in back-up, they aretaking him to the hospital and thento the station so we can questionhim later.

Johnson just nods his head in acknowledgment.

CUT TO:

INT. INTERROGATION ROOM - NIGHT13 13

OMally and Johnson enter a bare room with a bloody andbruised man sitting in a chair on the opposite side.

JOHNSONSo, Mr. (Looks down at a paper)Muratoavic, you think thatimporting thousands of kilos ofcoke into the U.S. and then sellingit to kids is cool? Im talkingabout cocaine here god dammit, thatshit aint powdered sugar. It ruinslives!

Captain Striker taps on the glass to get Johnsons attention.Johnsons excuses himself to meet with the Captain.

CAPTAIN STRIKERJohnson, I know its been one hellof a day, but you got to cool yourjets man! No one wins when yourescaring the bejeezus out of him.Think about OMally.

Both turn and look at OMally who is still standingdefensively inside the room.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (CONTD)You know I heard about yourretirement.

JOHNSONWha! Uhh well sir, I mean nothing

was set in stone, I was just layingout some options-

CAPTAIN STRIKERJohnson, nothing to be ashamed of.Youve served the force for nearlythirty years. Youve always wantedto go sailing havent you?

Johnson looks up in surprise and meets the Captains smile.Johnson understands what he must do and nods to the Captain.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (CONTD)OMally looks up to you, leave alasting impression. Go in and dothe right thing.

Johnson shakes the captains hand, then turns and enters theroom. Johnson pulls out his gun and shoots the man once inthe shoulder. The man screams in pain. OMally is immediatelypaying attention, slightly shocked.

JOHNSONWhere are the drugs you filthyfuckin terrorist?!

The criminal continues to cry in agony.

JOHNSON (CONTD)Don't bullshit around with me asscaptain, we know god damn well whatyou and your little drug cartel do.Now tell us who that man was you

were with today, and about thisdrug ring you are involved in.

The man shakes his head from the pain, not to the question.

JOHNSON (CONTD)No! NO! OMally, can you believethis fuckin prick?!

OMALLYUh, Johnson, Im not so sure heknows-

JOHNSONOh he knows, and hes going tell us

what we want to know, or I promisehe we will suffer.

OMALLYYou already shot him in both legsand the shoulder. Theres nothing

more that we could do. We couldlose our jobs over this.

JOHNSONHahaha. OMally, what comes first.Your job, or justice? We can, and

will, do whatever it takes to dothis job correctly. Hell, the mayor

will probably give me the key tothe city after throwing thisbastard behind bars.

Both stare into eachothers eyes. OMally understands.

OMALLYWell he certainly aint talking.

JOHNSONThis shit sack makes me want to

vomit. You wanna handle this?OMALLY

Sure.

OMally walks over to the criminal and examines his leg.

OMALLY (CONTD)Looks like they fixed you up prettygood. Hows the pain holding up?

The criminal just nods. OMally pauses, then sticks hisfingers on the red part. The guy screams in pain.

OMALLY (CONTD)You wanna tell us anything?!

The man tries to wiggle free and continues to scream and moanin excruciating pain. OMally turns to Johnson.

OMALLY (CONTD)This guy makes me sick!

OMally turns back around and punches the guy in to the faceso he rocks back in his chair and falls to the ground.

OMALLY (CONTD)Johnson, toss me your gun.

Johnson smiles at OMally.

JOHNSONYou got it...partner!

The guy starts to cry from the pain and fear.

OMALLYAnytime you want to start talkingbuddy, I welcome you to. But untilthen I will shoot you in non fatalplaces.

The guy doesnt make a sound. OMally makes a well you hadyour chance face, then shoots him in the foot. The guy rollsaround screaming brutally. OMally shoots him again, thistime in the stomach.

OMALLY (WHISPERS TO SELF) (CONTD)Shit, whoops.

Just as OMally aims for the third shot the Captain burstsopen the door.

CAPTAIN STRIKER

Men, what in Mary, Jesus andJosephs name is going on in here.What in the blazes do you think youare doing?!

OMALLYGetting answers sir...

Zoom fast onto mouth.

OMALLY (CONTD)Getting some fucking answers.

CAPTAIN STRIKERYou cant shoot the people you arequestioning! This aint communistRussia god dammit.

JOHNSONYou mean youre on this maggotsside?

OMALLYUhhh guys, I uhh...(pause) yep hesdead.

All three men look down at the hog-tied suspect lying in apool of his own blood.

JOHNSONWell I guess we know which one hechoose.

OMALLYLook sir, that terrorist son of abitch didnt say a word. He wasleading us nowhere on a wild goosechase.

CAPTAIN STRIKER (YELLING)Thats because he was foreign! And

mute! He was trying his god damnbest men and you shot him to death.

JOHNSONOhhhhh......

OMALLYYa our bad.

CAPTAIN STRIKERBoys, Ive put my ass on the lineone too many times. Im afraid Im going to have to let you go...

youre off the force for good.Both men looked stunned.

Johnson tosses his gun and badge at the Captains feet.OMally quickly pulls out his gun and empties the clip intothe dead man.

OMALLYBoy Im sure gonna miss that.

JOHNSONCome on kid, lets get outta herebefore they call the cops.

As the two men leave the station, they hear over the radio ofa possible drug deal taking place on the other end of town.

JOHNSON (CONTD)Kid, you know how I always told youto follow your gut, and to kill any

mutha fucker in your way?

OMALLYWell ya sure. But what does this-

Johnson puts one finger on OMallys lips.

JOHNSONShhhh. This is the time to follow

your gut.Both men know look at each other and know what to do.

EXT. NICE SUBURBAN HOME - AFTERNOON14 14

Their car flies in from off screen. Both men quickly exit thecar and burst through the door.

EXT. INSIDE NICE SUBURBAN HOME - AFTERNOON15 15

An average American family (husband, wife, 2 kids and agrandpa) are seated around the TV about to start dinner whenthe door is kicked in.

OMALLYHey drug lord terrorist...

Fast zoom in on mouth.

OMALLY (CONTD)Eat this!

OMally pumps his shotgun and fires. The two men startopening fire on anything that moves. The walls quickly coverin blood as the killing spree continues.

The family is stunned, and soon most are dead. Grandpa slowlyrises with his walker and tries to slowly walk away.

OMALLY (CONTD)Hes making a run for it!

JOHNSON

Not in my town. Hey pops...Johnson pulls out a bazooka.

JOHNSON (CONTD)See you in hell!

Johnson fires the bazooka, leaving nothing more than aflaming walker hurled against the far wall. All of a suddenthe father comes out of the kitchen with a rifle.

JOHNSON (CONTD)Shit! Behind the sofa OMally.

Both men dodge behind a flipped over sofa. The father isfiring bullets wildly across the room.

OMALLYWhat are we going to do! Werepinned down with no escape. WEREDOOMED!!!!

Johnson slaps OMally across the face.

JOHNSONGet it together you clown-assedshit burglar. I need your game faceon, and your trigger happy fingersready, because were making a runfor it.

OMALLYYouve gone completely bonkers,havent you. This is a suicide

mission, and I aint no kamikaze.

JOHNSONLook, we either have to get out, ordie trying, because I aint gonnasit here like chicken shit and getpumped full of lead.

Both men share a moment.

JOHNSON (CONTD)So you with me?

OMALLYRight behind ya.

FATHERWho the hell are you guys!

JOHNSONWere your worst nightmare.

FATHERWhat do you want!

JOHNSONJUSTICE!

Both men fly around the ends of the sofa charging for thedoor. Suddenly OMally gets shot in the chest and falls tothe ground in slow motion.

JOHNSON (CONTD)NOOOOOOOO!!!!

Johnson empties three to four clips into the father, the runsover to OMally, who is motionless but moaning.

JOHNSON (CONTD)OMally! Oh shit oh shit oh shit.Come on buddy, talk to me.

OMally makes a faint painful laugh as he reaches underneathhis coat.

OMALLYYou know, after all I have done forthis badge, (pulls out badge withbullet in it) this is the firstthing it has ever done for me.

JOHNSONYou son of a bitch! I knew theycouldnt take you down that easily.

All of a sudden the father is able to shoot OMally again,this time in the back.

JOHNSON (CONTD)WHY WONT YOU DIE!

Johson aims over and shoots the father a few times.

JOHNSON (CONTD)Dont move buddy, its gonna bealright.

Johnson shakes OMally who slowly sits up and takes off hisjacket to reveal a second badge slung around the back with abullet in it. Both men share a laugh when suddenly the fatheraims the gun one more time and shoots OMally in the head.

JOHNSON (WALKING OVER TO THE FATHER)

(CONTD)You sick son of a bitch. (sticks agun in one ear) This ones forOMally. (sticks a gun in his otherear) This ones for me.

Johnson fires the gun. Gruesome gory explosion. He then runsback over to OMally.

JOHNSON (CONTD)OMally! OMally you god damn sonof a bitch. Come on buddy talk to

me! You cant die on me now!

Johnson shakes OMally. There is a moment of silence.

OMALLY (STUTTERING, WEAK)(Opens eyes)Johnson, is that you.

JOHNSONYa its me, just hold on a few more

minutes. Help is on its way.

OMALLYDid we get them?

JOHNSONYes we got every god damn one ofthem. You and I... together.

OMALLYJohnson, Im not going to make it.

JOHNSON (CRYING)Yes you are! Don't say that. Anambulance is on its way. They aregoing to fix you up, and we... youand I, are going to go sailingtogether. Just think about the twoof us, the wind blowing in ourhair... drinking a nice cold beer,and just talking about the good olddays in the force.

OMALLY (VERY WEAK)T-Tell me what.. its like there...

JOHNSONThe sun is shining and the wind isblowing. We are by ourselves notanother soul in sight. Just us andthe big blue open sea. There is noone out there to stop us... So wejust keep on sailing further and

further, until we are nothing morethen a speck in the sunset.

OMALLYSounds...wonderful.

Omally smiles one last time, then dies and cough blood allover Johnsons face. Johnson slowly lays the lifeless body ofOMally down and walks towards the door. As he approaches thedoor, he stops. The camera reveals a grenade clenched in hishand, the pin wrapped around his finger. Slowly he lets thepin drop to the ground with a crash. The rest of the actionsare in slow motion.

JOHNSON (V.O.)Ya we lost him. And it was afucking tradegy. But nobody criestoday, not on this force. OMallygave his life up for what hebelieved. Pure and simple. Justice

was served. It may have been savagejustice, but it was served.
