SAVER DOG AND CAT SHOW 2012 GUIDELINES

BEFORE THE SHOW1. This prestigious competition is open for the De La Salle Arenata University community. Outsiders also can register

and join in this competition.2. The competition is intended only for canine (dog) and feline (cat) species only.

3. Registration will start on January 30, 2012 (Monday) and will end on February 24, 2012 (Friday) at exactly 10 in the

morning.4. Registration forms are found in LSB Lobby (there will be a booth), or you can get it at the CVMAS faculty office, or you

can text or call Mr. Leander Lasala (090627220094).5. Registration fee is about one hundred pesos (P100.00) per animal.6. There will be categories for dog and cat:

DOG

Show dog

Talent

Fashion

Healthiest ASPIN (Asong Pinoy)

7. You can resgister your dog or cat in only just one of these said categories8. Winners of the last years Dog and Cat show is prohibited to join again at the show dog and cat category. But they

could again register in other categories enlisted above.

9. For the funniest video category, they must submit a CD (formats: .wmv, .mpeg. mpeg2 only) of their videos of their

own dog or cat only before February 20, 2012 (Monday). They could submit the CDs to Mr. Leander Lasala(090627220094). These videos will be collected and be evaluated by the Faculty of CVMAS (the videos must be

wholesome and must passed the animal welfare act). The chosen screened videos will be flashed on the screenduring the show wherein the judges would evaluate and chose the winner.

DURING THE SHOW1. Upon enetering the University, the dog or cat must have the following:

Cage and/or a leash

Collar with their nametag

Updated vaccination certificate

Plastic and tissue

Food and water for their pets

Materials (for the tricks talent category)

Clothes/accessories (for the fashion category)

2. The owner and their pets must enter the University before 12:00 in the afternoon. Pets that are inside of the Universityis prohibited to go outside the University.

3. The society is not accountable if the animal escapes or have been loss during the said show. Owners must beresponsible with their own pets.

4. Animals and owners must stay on their assign areas (there will be areas for the different categories) until such judgingis finished.

5. Judges will be chosen by the society. These judges have been educated with the categories and the crietria fojudging.

6. Judging will start at exactly 1:00 in the afternoon. Late animals will not be entertained and judge.

7. Judges decision is final and irrevocable.8. Announcement of the winners will happen after all the categories were finished and done.9. The following are the awards to be given to the different categories:

DOG SHOW CRITERIA

Show Dog CriteriaIn a dog conformation show, judges aren't merely comparing the dogs to each other. Rather, they judge each dog againsthe parameters of the idealized version of its breed. In other words, when the judge looks at your poodle, Fluffy, he iscomparing Fluffy to the written standards of the ideal poodle. The standards address various body parts and attributesincluding:

Balance: overall appropriate proportions in size - 10 points

Weight - 5 points

Size - 5 points

Eyes: color, size, shape - 5 points

Ears: shape, length, position - 5 points

Head: shape - 10 points

Muzzle: shape, length - 5 points

Whiskers: thickness - 5 points

Teeth: kind of bite (e.g. level or scissors bites) - 5 points

Tail: how it arches and sets (e.g. how high or low) - 5 points

Shoulders: bone, muscle - 5 points

Legs: muscles, stance, proportionality - 5 points

Coat: texture, length - 5 points

Color: accepted breed colors - 5 points

Gait: walk - 10 points

Attitude - 10 points

Clean ears no wax residue - 10 points6. Reflexes (Will be tested on a toy) - 10 points7. Responses (Will be tested on a toy) - 10 points8. Shape (Determined by breed) - 10 points9. Attitude - 10 points
