Dursban® 50W specialty insecticide offers superior control of more than 280 insect pests, including worms and aphids, found in nursery settings and turf grown for sod. It is available as a wettable powder in convenient water-soluble packets.

How Dursban® 50W worksDursban® 50W specialty insecticide targets the nervous system of pests so they suspend normal behaviors such as feeding. More specifically, chlorpyrifos, the active ingredient in Dursban 50W, is an organophosphate that inhibits the activity of the nervous system enzyme acetylcholinesterase.

Insects controlledDursban® 50W specialty insecticide is your answer for controlling insects in nurseries. It controls more than 280 destructive pests, including:

• Aphids

• Boxelder bugs

• Katydids

• Leafhoppers

• Leafminers

• Mealy bugs

• Mites

• Thrips

One to two pounds per acre will control numerous pests, whereas two to four pounds per acre will control scale insects. Refer to the label for more information.

Dursban® 50W specialty insecticide

Application timingApply Dursban® 50W specialty insecticide during the early larval or nymph stages, when insects are most vulnerable. Spray when pests first appear. Consult your state agricultural experiment station or Extension service specialist for application timing and other specific use information for your area.

Nursery recommendationsDursban® 50W specialty insecticide is recommended for use to control a variety of insects on ornamentals grown in nurseries. Studies have shown pests do not build up resistance to Dursban 50W, a product that affects pests’ nerve endings.

Tank-mixingDursban® 50W specialty insecticide can be tank-mixed with most other insecticides to broaden the spectrum of pest control in nurseries. It can also be tank-mixed with herbicides and fungicides. Refer to the label for directions, mixing instructions, precautions and limitations before using.
