San Francisco is at a historic tipping point Marjan sees thatthe dream o having her kids come back one day and live in herneighborhood is in jeopardy

CALIFORNIA IS GROWING Local governmentrsquos job isto manage that growth while protecting the most vulnerableparticularly renters and small businesses who live with the earo displacement New low and middle-income housing inunoccupied underdeveloped sites along major transit corridorsare needed to reduce exorbitant rents and help keep amiliesand working people in San Francisco

As we grow me must also protect and strengthen rent controlreduce profiteering based on illegal or no-ault evictions andmaintain the character and neighborhood eel o the AvenuesMarjan has the independence and know-how to managethese hard decisions and keep opposing interests at thenegotiating table

IMPROVE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION Despite hosting themost-used transit line in the western United States (the 38-Gearyclocking in at 55000 rides every day) the Richmond is the ONLYdistrict not served by subway or streetcar We need to think boldlyabout transit options or our already underserved population

ADVANCE THE DIALOGUE We know what success will looklike cleaner and saer streets the best possible choices or publicschools and a thriving economy in a tolerant environmentally-riendly Richmond that diverse people at all income levels cancall home Tere is well-intentioned disagreement about how toachieve these aims However kicking the can down the road andletting these issues ester or another decade is bad or all o usMarjan will lead a responsible and responsive public partnershipbetween the City and residents o the Richmond District orgingconsensus and restoring civil dialogue

ldquo983113 support 983117arjan 983120hilhour for 983123upervisor because 983113 know thatshe will work hard to ensure an equal share of resources for westside residents 983105s a longtime resident of the 983119uter 983122ichmond 983117arjan understands her communityrsquos needs at the ground leveland 983113 look forward to working with her to bring improvementsto all west side neighborsrdquo
