II Freeman' 6 Biat. Cape Ood" says "Thomas .Bowerman married Hannah .Annable. dau.ghter of Anthony Annable. 10 March 1644-46" •

Note:(There is a discrepanoy apparent in the dates as given by the - different authorities. but M.r. Freeman in Ii lUst. of Cape Codl!

regards it as probable that the Thomas Bowerman and Hannah Annable mentioned under different dates are the same persona.)

    (2) Thomas (1648) is the only member of the family. so far as known. VJho has left issu.e. He 'Was for some time town alerk in Barnstable where he married 1~ry (vide Quakers) Harper. 9 April 1678, and had issue. viz.:

    Samuel (3) Thomas

    Stephen

    Benjamin

    Hannah YJaite

The "Bee. of New Plymouth" says "In 1678, Thomas Burman was fined !10-0-0 for marrying himself" and, according to Mr. Freeman's HHist.

Cape Cod"HV'Thomas Burman married Mary Harper. 9 April 1678" and a8, aocording to the same author, the Bowermans were Quakers, the presumption is that Thomas Bowerman was fined for marrying aocording to the Ceremonies of Friends.

There is no reoorded issue of any members of the family of Thomas Bowerman and Mary Harper except that of the second son (3) Thomas, who married Jane (neither full name nor dates being given) and left the subjoined/issue, viz.:

father's second wife. and removed as did also his father, to Sidney,Maine, but returned to this town lSandwich, Cape Cod) 1788.

    Jf Hia ohildren were as follows;

Charlotte, DaVid, who married Sarah Allen, Ruth, who married Benjamin Swift, Abner, Asa, 1786

    The mother died 12 ]leb'y 1816."

Whether David Bowman, who married Ruth Dillingham was a brother of Iohabod Bower~an, who married (1) Lydia Mott and (2) Jane Riohmond,is not positively settled, but it is yet oonsidered probable from the following caloulation.

~- Thomas Bowerman and Mary Harper were married 9th April 1678. Thelr 2nd son'Thomas was probably born about 1681. About,,,1720 lchabod Bowerman was born. This would be about the 40th year of-~homasl age. Again as Iohabod was born about 1720, allowing 1723 for Judah and 1726 for David's birth, we oan oaloulate the probable age of Jeremiah who died in 1834 and ahow that it is not improbable that David of Falmouth and lohabod, subsequently of Dutchers Co., N.Y. were of the same family_

Allowing 25 years for the age of David when he married his seoond wife Hannah Wing, the date of marriage would be 1750 and the birth of his eldest son Jeremiah about 1752, which would give Jeremiah, in 1834, an age of 82 years, quite within the limits of the known familylongevity.

Now Jeremiah's youngest Bon was born 1786 and he had 6 ohildren. Allowing 10 years to have elapsed between his marriage and the birth of his last Child, the date of marriage would be 1776 and this would give him an age of 24 years at time of marriage.

,"N~,publi9hed reoords exist of the issue of any exoept'Thomas, the

son of ·1:.nomas Bowerman and Mary Harper t as already sta.ted, and it seems probable that the above David and lchabod are of this iaaue. Of

," 'Ichabod Bowerman little is now known. exoept that he was born in Mass., - married (1) Lydia Mott and had issue. viz.:
