    The rapid growth of information and communication technologies and innovation in digital systems represent a revolution that has fundamentally changed the way people think, behave, communicate, work and earn their livelihood. This so-called digital revolution has forged new ways to create knowledge, educate people and disseminate information.

    At Standard Bank weve embarked on a journey to simplify banking through Digital. Not only do we help our customers save time but we also save them money as it is cheaper to transact on Digital.

    We also reward customers when transacting on Digital.

    This document has been published to assist you with understanding the value of each channel and the convenience they provide to improve the lives of our customers.

  • Digital Channels

    There are currently 4 channels that customers can use to do there day to day banking at their convenience and not have to stick to normal banking hours. These are as follows:

    Cellphone banking also known as USSD

    Internet banking

    Internet banking gives you access to your personal and business accounts online anytime, anywhere. Its the perfect way to do your banking whether from home, the office or when travelling because the service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

    Internet banking gives you the freedom to choose your own banking hours giving you greater control of your finances. Its secure, fast and easy to use.

    You can transact on all accounts linked to your AutoBank, MasterCard and Business AutoBank card. You can also view statements, make payments, apply for an overdraft, and open investment and savings accounts.

    Note: There is No monthly subscription fee associated with Internet banking.

    Go to www.standardbank.co.za

    and click on Go button next to the Internet Banking option in the top right-hand corner. The Internet banking log on page will then be displayed on the log on page click on the New registration option in the left-hand menu.

    Enter your card number and ATM PIN and click on the register button Follow the on screen instructions to complete the registration process.

    Note: If you use Telephone or Cellphone banking, you do not have to create a new customer-selected PIN (CSP) because you can use the same CSP to access Internet banking (Same applies to Cellphone banking and mobile app).

    Getting started

    To register for Internet Banking you need to have at least one Standard Bank account linked to a Standard Bank card.

  • Information is not stored on your phone and the Cellphone banking system uses encryption to ensure that the session is secure. Even if your phone is stolen, no one will be able to transact on your phone.

    You also log on using your card number and a Customer Selected PIN (CSP) that you will have selected. As long as you keep these numbers to yourself, no one else will be able to access your bank accounts.

    Remember: Network charges apply your service provider will charge for the amount of information sent to and from your cellphone. These charges are low but are set by your network.

    Note: There is No monthly subscription fee associated with Cellphone banking.

    Cellphone banking

    This service allows you to

    (You may use any cellphone for this option)

    To get started on Cellphone

    banking just simply dial

    *120*2345# for General

    Banking or *130*2345# for

    Prepaid Services.

    To use the Quick Prepaid Top-Up service simply dial *130*2345# There is no network cost to you when you use the Quick Top-Up option as you do not need airtime to make the call. This number is specifically for airtime recharge and prepaid electricity and will not incur any network charges to yourself.

    Please remember: You may buy only up to R500 of prepaid airtime per day, and this is a limit set for security purposes.

    Note: If you use telephone or Internet banking, you do not have to create a new customer-selected PIN (CSP) because you can use the same CSP to access Internet banking.

    Standard Banks smartphone app conveniently lets you do your banking on the go.

    Youll be able to use a number of Standard Bank services through this app even if you do not have an account with us.

    The Standard Bank smartphone app, is available on iPhone and Android.

  • Description The Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment is a facility used to pay bills electronically.

    Features The EBPP facility enables customers to pay bills electronically.

    Standard Bank South Africa uses the customers identity document (ID) number to retrieve bills issued by participating billers, to the customers.

    Note: Participating billers are billers added to the list of billers to be paid electronically.

    Services available to the customer

    The customer may:

    add a biller; view bills; pay bills; view a list of billers on their bill payments profile; delete a biller; and view the last five payments made to a biller.

    Benefits Customers:

    settle their outstanding bills 24 hours a day; save time. No need to queue at billers offices/businesses; pay their bills where and when it is most convenient for them; have access to their bills wherever there is an internet connection; and may retrieve new bills when they become available from billers.

  • Notes:

    Linking of accounts to a card can only be done at a branch.

    There is no restriction on the number of devices you can download and install the tablet app on. However, only one user can be registered on the app on a particular device.

    UCount Benefits

    Initiate 3 transactions a month (excluding prepaid transactions) on any of the Digital Channels and earn 50 UCount points a month, provided that you are registered for UCount.
