SBCE Artist Day
Kevin Sherrill is a cartoonist who impressed the
students with his large tablet! He
showed some of his works and discussed
how to create a story. The students
started a story board about a cartoon they would want to make during this session.

sculpture.
Computer animator, Alan Barnes, taught students
about creating comic characters using computer
animation. He demonstrated on his tablet and then the
students created their own character.
Batik is a very old art form that found many young enthusiast after the
students participated in this session with Beth Cox. Using melted wax, the
students created their name and some personal images on a piece of
fabric.
Ben Hollingsworth, a retired Fulton County art teacher, is a very prolific
quilter. Here is he discussing this art-themed quilt with the students.
Artist Amada Jones demonstrated for the students a unique form of art-making called encaustic. Here are
some students holding their collaborative finished piece.
Mr. Melivn was quite the hit here at the SBCE Art Day. The third through fifth graders learned some moves and danced in a choreographed routine.
