ICON FORGED RACING PISTONS

Each Icon piston is forged from high-strength, heat treated, 2618 aluminum alloy. This makes Icon pistons significantly lighter than the competition without sacrificing strength. The lightweight design will allow your engine to rev quicker and get into it's power band faster. The V-rib design promotes maximum piston cooling.

Icon pistons include many racing features such as diamond-ma-chined skirt, head, mini-grooves, pin bore, gas accumulator, ring grooves, and pressure-drilled pin hole oiling. The FHR (Formed Head Relief) series are an ''Off The Shelf'' piston loaded with premium features that are usually found in specialty custom made pistons. FHR pistons have valve reliefs that are formed-in as the piston blank is pressed into the die. Many of the domed models are solid which allows tailoring the dome height for a specific compression ratio. Forged from 4032 Alloy material containing 11% silicon content which controls the thermal expansion so a tighter piston to wall clearance may be used over the 2618 alloy. The additional silicon wil also increase wear-ability on the skirts and pin bores making this an ideal material for street and some boosted applications.
