File Types

• Bitmap– .tif – uncompressed (or not), pages, layers– .bmp – uncompressed– .png – compressed, lossless– .jpg – highly compressed, lossy– .gif – highly compressed, lossy, indexed– .xcf – GIMP’s format– .psd – Abode Photoshop’s format

• Vector– .svg – open standard– .ai – Adobe Illustrator’s format
