Dr. R. K. Singh, born on 11th June, 1969, is a Director & Professor at B.T. Kumaon Institute of
Technology, Dwarahat, Almora, Uttarakhand an autonomous Institution of Government of Uttarakhand. Having
throughout first division career, he obtained his Ph.D. from Allahabad University and M. Tech. from BITS,
Pilani and B.E. from Marathwada University. He is recipient of numerous awards and honours. He is engaged
in teaching, research, administration and consultancy for the last 24 years. Presently he is working as Director,
B.T. Kumaon Institute of Technology, Dwarahat, Almora, Uttarakhand an autonomous Institution of
Government of Uttarakhand and appointed as Director since 01/10/2015 at B.T. Kumaon Institute of
Technology, Dwarahat, Almora,
Dr. Singh started his esteemed career as teaching assistant at Birla Institute of Technology and Science
(BITS), Pilani (one and half years, Oct. 4, 1990 - July 1993) and as RA & Scientist(P) at CEERI, Pilani (more
than one and half years, July 1993 – March 20, 1995), as an Assistant Professor March 21, 1995 – July 30,
1998) at BT Kumaon Institute of Technology (BTKIT), Dwarahat, formerly known as Kumaon Engineering
College (KEC), Dwarahat, Almora (more than 3 years) and Associate Professor July 31, 1998 – July 30, 2006)
at BT Kumaon Institute of Technology, Dwarahat (8 years). He became professor ( July 31, 2006 – till date) at
the age of 37 years, at BT Kumaon Institute of Technology, Dwarahat. He held the positions of HOD ECE,
Principal, BT Kumaon Institute of Technology, Dwarahat, Officer on Special Duty, Registrar and Controller of
Examination, at Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun. He is presently Director, BT Kumaon Institute of
Technology, Dwarahat. He is also Member of Board of Governors, GBPEC, Pauri.
Prof. Singh has received felicitations and awards by professional bodies such as Rastriya Samman

Dealing World Bank assisted Technical Education Quality Improvement Program for BTKIT; Expert Member,
of various committees of several Instituions and organizations of national and international repute. Technical
Expert for AICTE, NBA, and UGC of Government of India
Prof. Singh has guided 16 PhDs and about 10 M.Tech theses. He has participated in various National
and International conferences, and published more than 100 research papers in national and international journals
of repute. He has also authored eight books. Besides he has undertaken numerous consultancies for state
government and various PSUs. He has provided technical assistance as member to groups of expert set up for
various tasks.
Prof. Singh is member of the various prestigious bodies like Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata, IEEE, etc.
