Consumer Scanning SystemsSymbol Technologies introduced the world’s first hand-held terminal-based consumer scanning system for the retail market and now continues the history of innovation. With the introduction of products like the CS 1504 and CS 2000 Consumer Memory Scanners, time-pressed customers will find electronic shopping, even for impulse items, a real pleasure.

CS 1504 Consumer Memory Scanner: The smallest, lightest laser-based memory scanner is ideal for applications within the consumer market. The battery-operated CS 1504 is small enough to be carried in the pocket or purse and is targeted primarily at e-applications. For example, consumers can generate an electronic shopping list for items used within the home (clothing, books, music and videos) by either scanning existing items in the house or browsing through a bar coded printed catalog.

CS 2000 Consumer Memory Scanner: Internet shopping at home is easy with the CS 2000, a lightweight battery-operated consumer bar code scanner–no need to scroll through web pages or click through lists! Shoppers simply point the CS 2000 at the bar code on the item they wish to order and press the large button to add it to the electronic shopping list stored in memory. To delete an item, scan the bar code and press the delete button. To place an order, put the CS 2000 in the cradle connected to the PC’s serial port and with the click of a mouse the order is on its way.

MK 2000 Micro Kiosk™: With its full color VGA display and sleek design, the MK 2000 from Symbol Technologies complements your existing CRM initiatives enabling you to target customers with in-store promotions while they shop. Specifically, the MK 2000 can influence purchase decisions by presenting helpful product information including product images, audio/video clips and targeted text messages.

P360 and P460 Memory Scanners: In addition to offering corded scanning when cabled to a host, these batch data collection scanners are ideal for environments where cables would limit the user’s movements. Available in 1, 4 or 8 MB memory versions, the P460 is a dual-purpose POS scanner for heavy or bulky items and in-store batch applications. The P360, sealed to IP54 standard, is suited for extreme environments as well as wide temperature fluctuations.
