Tips for scanning an entryand summarising a story

Here are some brief tips to help you with your summaries.1

Information about the author

When you read the brief synopsis for a book, youll discover that you are often given some background about the author first.

Brief summary of the story

A two or three line summary of the story (including characters and brief information about the plot) will usually be found in the second half of the synopsis.
