SUBJECT: PARTICIPATION TO THE STUDENT COUNCIL ALLIANCE OF THE
PHILIPPINES SUMMIT, #ONE VISAYAS ON 22-24 OCTOBER 2015,
BACOLOD CITY, PHILIPPINES.

By virtue of the Social Reform and Poverty Alleviation Act (RA 8425) that mandates the National
Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) to strengthen and invigorate the partnership between the national
government and the basic sectors, the NAPC encourage the support and participation of all agencies
concerned to “Student Council Alliance of the Philippines Summit” with the theme:
“#OneVisayas.” The aforementioned activity is organized by the SCAP, a recognized youth
organization of NAPC-YSS, chaired by Ms. Rachel Antoinette R. Contreras.
This summit will bring together student leaders from Western, Central and Eastern Visayas for a
common goal that despite the vast diversity, we can still stand as on Visayas to strengthen the
awareness of young people on pressing issues that are rampant in today’s time.
The youth are at the forefront of the long-term fight against poverty, and NAPC, therefore, believes
that allowing the youth to be heard is crucial in crafting anti-poverty measures that will genuinely
respond to the need of the youth sector.
